Graphics card question. Geforce 1080 SLI

Hello

The other day I received my new PC, however I have a few questions

I have 2xGeforce ZOTAC 1080 SLI Graphics cards.. When I run MSI afterburner to get FPS and temps etc. It shows that GPU 2 is doing all the work....

The display output is plugged into the TOP graphics card, so I was assuming that was GPU1. But when I run MSI afterbuner it shows this:

its showing that GPU2 is doing all the work... so the one thats NOT connected with display port...

Is all that right/correct?

Or is the second card down, the one at the bottom the master and the top card is the slave?

I am abit confused lol

Neither is overclocked by the way... but at what temperature should it hit before start to worry? 80c is the highest ive seen it so far... is that normal?

I *think* you set which card is the main one under the Phys-x Processor drop down in Nvidia Control Panel > Configure Surround/Phys-X

You will identify which the control panel considers to be GPU1 and GPU 2 according to which is shown as having the monitors plugged into it.

So it could be that the card without the monitor is set as the phys-x processor.

I don't have 2 cards in my system at the moment, so this is from memory of about 6 months ago.

Make sure as well that SLI is enabled.

As for temps, 80 degrees is fine. FE 1080s will target about 83 degrees. You can adjust the fan profiles to whatever you want in MSI Afterburner though. And you may wish to do so, if the temps are limiting the boost clocks (Pascal can boost itself pretty high).

that didnt do anything

in theory should thr top/highest card in the PCIe line be the "master" and the one used for the Display? as its showing card (2) been used for the display:

ive swapped the sli bridge around too to see if it chages anything but nothing, and ive also plugged display port into 2nd/bottom GPU and nothing showed up on the screen at all :/

I ran both cards through Techpowerup CPU-Z and got these results:

running the pci test... 1 was working good the other was hardly used...

is there something wrong with 1 of the cards?
