Having trouble removing cover off a Clevo P960RD laptop case

Hi all

As the title suggests I have tried to remove the case (Clevo P960RD) to see what upgrades I can do. I have removed all the screws on case underside and even popped the keyboard out but the case does not come off. It seems like there is a hidden screw somewhere in the middle that I just can't see.

I followed this video which has pretty much the identical case to mine but my PC specialist case does not pop off like his does!

If anyone has come across this and could point me in the right direction that would be great!

Many thanks
Matt

So it's clipped on once you remove the screws, you have to release the clips as he did by skirting around the edge to release them.

You've unscrewed the keyboard screws as well?

Hey SpiderTracks

Yes I undid every screw and removed all the clips around the edges. It just seemed to be stuck in the middle of the case , like it was attached to something else. If that is the right approach I'll try again and see if I get any success (I already broke the side of the case so stopped).

Just wondered if anyone else had experience with this particular case and removing it.

thanks

Does the defiance Havre an external battery, if so remove it and make sure there are no screws in the battery compartment

There might be one hole in the middle that has a keyboard sign next to it, it wont be a screw but a gentle push will unclip the keyboard in the middle that will have stopped the case from being removed (possibly) - you need to pop the keyboard off.

Thanks for the replies. There is no external battery and I have removed the keyboard previously so I will check again to see if I missed anything.

thanks

Not to necro this post but as an update I finally managed to get the laptop case off. Peoples advice here was spot on. There were additional screws under the keyboard that I had to remove (after removing keyboard screws and popping the keyboard out).

So just in case another internet citizen comes across this post, that's how you get this damn case off!

Thanks again for the help.

Just to thank everyone for this post. I have just hit the same problem on a new Clevo. I haven't tried to remove the keyboard
yet, but it sounds promising.
