Headset buzzing?

Hi guys, finally got round to playing bf3, but I find as soon as I load it up my headset starts to buzz. I was playing with the settings and none of the sound options in game made any difference, changing the graphics options changed the pitch of the buzzing but didn't stop it. Unplugging the headset and using normal speakers stops any buzzing.
Does anybody know how to stop the buzzing please?
I can use the headset for skype with no issues so it appears to be just BF3 (have't used it for any other games)

Using the onboard sound on the mobo in my sig. (edit: P8Z77-V)
The headset is a Turtle Beach X11

Thanks

Anybody? If not I might try a new headset, quite like the Razer Carcharias, but obviously it's expensive if the problem can be easily sorted.
Thanks

Hi there! I was getting this issue before

With me, it was due to the headphone port on the motherboard being too close to my GPU (Graphics card). Try moving the graphics card to a PCI/PCI-e port further away and that should solve your problem :) I now run my sound off an Asus Xonar DG because it was bugging me and i liked the integrated amp :)

This will happen when running any GPU intensive applications, like games, Folding@Home and video conversion for example

Hi

I tried it but it didn't work for me :/ Thanks anyway.

It seems to be a problem with the amp in the headset, if I turn the headset volume right down and pc volume up it is fine.
Do you reckon getting a better headset might sort it?

Thanks again.

Hmmm thats very odd. It was (quite literally) exactly the same for me as well however. I had a set of Turtle Beach X11's, and the issue was present on them. I also have some Sennheiser HD518's and the noise was ALSO present on those too.

So in short, no. Getting a new headset will simple cost you more money and not do much. In the long run, if it's annoying you, it may be cheaper to get a separate sound card! I read somewhere that it'd due to the magnetic interference with the card and the sound, so ideally either get something that is shielded, or block it with something (im using my WLAN card to block it as i use powerline!)

Any problems give me a shout :)

Thanks for this mate, I have the same issue and am looking into an external sound card to fix the problem. +1
