Help! A portable primary screen solution to accompany portable mini ITX PC

Hello all,

I have a mini itx pc build I am looking to buy which I plan to use for gaming, VR and design work. Its purpose is to give me portability but without the upgradable restrictions of a laptop. I am trying to find a portable screen solution which can be transported with my mini itx build. Ideally something I can also put on my lap? I have found some usb monitors but they all act as secondary monitor solutions, not primary. Anyone got a solution to this?

I was hoping to be able to link my old laptop to my new mini itx pc to act as a monitor and keyboard for the desktop which would have been ideal, however after searching the Internet to see if this is possible, it doesn't seem so. Which is mad as being able to do this would be so usefulong and be a great accompaniment to a highly portable mini itx pc.

Any advice will be greatly received!!

I've not used these myself but I would just look for a simple USB powered monitor. Something like the AOC E1759FWU 17" USB Monitor is only around £100.

Honestly, I think what you are looking for is a laptop. Modern high end laptops are upgradable in most ways.

Cool thanks for that. I did look at laptops and for the level of performance I need I'm looking at £1700. I can't part with that much cash for something with limited upgradability. For the same price and can get at least double the performance with last the ability to upgrade the GPU. Seems like a no brainer really. I think I'm going to buy a cheap laptop to go with the mini itx pc and I can remote access itx if I need to work from my lap. Any other time I've got the pc.
