Hey guys I've got £400 to add to, or upgrade my current PC it runs fine but I have the money to throw at it so I figured I'd ask you guys where I could use it.


Current PC
Case: Inwin GT1
Cpu: Intel Core I7-7700
Gpu: Zotac 6gb Nvidia Gtx 1060
Memory: 16gb HyperX Fury DDR4 2133mhz (2x8gb)
Mobo: Gigabyte Z170X
Storage : 240gb HyperX SSD
1tb Sata-III HDD
Psu: Corsair 450W VS Series
Cpu Cooling: Corsair H60 Hydro Series

I'd say nowhere. Save it up for a 1440p 144hz or 4k monitor and a high end GPU from the next generation.

But the above is pretty balanced.

Upgrading from a GTX 1070 to a GTX 1070, for example, would be a really really bad use of £.

The forums belong to PC Specialist who build and sell custom PCs and laptops and users aren't encouraged to give detailed sales/purchasing advice on non-PCS systems. So if this isn't either a system you bought from here or a PC Specialist system sold from another vendor like ebuyer, then you might want to check with an open forum like Tom's Hardware for more detailed advice.

But either way I'd stand by what I said above. There's nothing worth getting for £400. If you're gaming at 1080p, why on earth would you upgrade from a GTX 1060 you bought within the last year or so to a GPU from the same generation.
