So I have a budegt of around 1000 pounds. Obviously I'd like to get the best I can with that and was just wondering what you guys thought this system is like and how well it will play games... Skyrim, the witcher games, arma 2 etc.

And also a question about SLI... is the cooler adequate enough to run two of these cards? I plan to add another in the near future when needed but as I don't know anything really I just don't know if I'm going wrong anywhere. Thanks for any help and if you see any problems or you think a change here or there would benefit please say, I can't go too much over the price this comes to but a little extra I can do as this is at the tip of my budget. All advice and opinions appreciated.

Looks good, I'd suggest that you don't get the bullguard as it is a nightmare to uninstall. Otherwise, it looks good, enjoy it, best of luck!

The spec looks good. I can confirm that you will be able to play skyrim with ultra presets 1080p at 30+ FPS constantly.

Your PSU is adequate enough to run two 560TI's should you choose to SLI in the future.

Hey guys, I have upped my budget a little but I am thinkin it could be a little overkill on certain things so it could come down a little if you don't think some things are worth it.

Case
InWIN BLACK DRAGON RIDER GAMING CASE
Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™i5-2500k Quad Core (3.30GHz, 6MB Cache) + HD Graphics
Motherboard
ASUS® P8Z68-V/GEN3: PCI-E 3.0 READY, SLI, CROSSFIREX Motherboards is where I am most useless... is this one ok for my purpose?
Memory (RAM)
16GB SAMSUNG DUAL-DDR3 1333MHz (4 X 4GB) Is 16gb worth getting? Or will 8 be enough... I don't want to have to upgrade anytime soon which is half the reason why I am not building myself because I have no clue how to install anything
Graphics Card
2GB AMD RADEON™ HD6970 - 2 DVI,HDMI,2 mDP - DX® 11, Eyefinity 4 Capable Is it worth it over the 6950? I don't plan on overclocking it but I will add another card later down the line whichever I get so take in to account which runs better in crossfire too. Or maybe you think the gtx570 would be the better choice?
Memory - 1st Hard Disk

Power Supply
CORSAIR 850W ENTHUSIAST SERIES™ TX850 V2-80 PLUS® BRONZE (£99) Will a 750w be enough to run two 6970s or two gtx 570s? Or would it be a safer bet to stick with the 850?
Processor Cooling
SUPER QUIET 22dBA TRIPLE COPPER HEATPIPE INTEL CPU COOLER (£19)

Sound Blaster® Audigy™ SE (£19) Worth the upgrade from onboard sound?

good choice of motherboard, stick with 8gig of ram, that is plenty for now. no need for more.

instead of the 6970 go for the 570, then if needed sli the 570 in a year of so. 850w is enough for two 570's but i think two 6970's need 1000w's. But i cant tell you which card out performs which.

stick to onboard sound, i've found its just as good if not better than sound cards. :) apart from the top end 100quid plus cards.

nice spec. i will try and have a check out 6970's for ya, :)

edit, i aint watched it as, im on a demo of linux at the mo, but may give you answers.

and here too clicky, has charts n stuff, its a close call.

two 570s can run on a 750w fine

"We notice that you have selected a 750W power supply, but based on our calculations we recommend you change your selection to a 850W power supply because your computer could require up to 762W of power including a 20% allowance."

ooohh the psu debate again.......hahah

game on wozza :)

i'd go for the 850. Ill put it this way, if you was on a long drive you'd rather have a full tank of juice than three quarters full now wouldn't you. If that even makes sense.

Wozza63

Biblical Poster
762/6 = 127
127 x 5 = 635

so you could happily run on even a 650 if you wanted to, my system according to PCS would require 800w so i stuck with the 850w as i also have a lot to add, that also didnt account for the case or the cooler i purchased elsewhere

ah damn you pulled the maths on me..........that's just not cricket wozza.

that does leave about 100w's lol,

Thanks for all your help guys I'll rep you. One last question I have before I buy... what do you think of the amd bulldozer fx8120 processor? I made almost exactly the same build with that processor and the gtx 580 and the motherboard was ASUS® M5A99X EVO:USB 3.0, SATA 6.0Gb/s, Quad CrossFireX™/SLI™ for i think like 40 pounds extra than the one listed above. What do u think compared to the i7 2600? I do use a DAW to make music... cubase 5 if that matters at all.
