as some of you may know, I had some problems last week that you guys helped me with. My new card came today and now i'm having issues with it lol.

my radeon 7870 physically installed fine.

as you know when you boot with new gfx card with no drivers installed you get the standard crappy resolution.

at this point I installed the latest amd drivers, then after this, unisntalled as many nvidia drivers and programmes as I could. after this I restarted and everything looked like it was running fine, quiet and running back at my normal resolution.

at this point I decide to give it a test and launch a game. no games seem to run, all of them just blink and not load, some give errors messages.

the best error message I received was with bf 3

from this it seemed like directx wasn't working but directx 9c and 11 are both installed. as you know you can't really download directx any more, you have to do it all through the windows updater, which says I do not need it.

the only thing I can think of is that I not installed nvidia stuff first, but I suspect there is more to it than that.

the 3 remaining nvidia files will not let me uninstalled even in safe mode.

cheers.

Ideally the nVidia stuff should have been uninstalled before the 7870 went in. Do as Tom said with a fresh install, but when you've uninstalled the 7870 try uninstalling the nVidia stuff before reinstalling the 7870.
