How does this build look?

I believe Im able to add an extra 150 pounds to my budget should I upgrade the Ryzen 5 5600x to the Ryzen 7 5800x?
I also changed the motherboard aswell to the Asus x570 plus wifi
The monitor you mentioned, is this one you already own? If not, I notice @Scott has specced you a 3060TI which would give you a great 1440p experience and you could put at least some of that cash towards a better monitor. The Gigabyte M27Q, ASUS TUF VG27AQ and the Dell S2721DGF would be our go to options for a monitor with those specs.

I'd also personally remove the HDD and add a 1TB SSD for significantly faster game loading times (something like the PCS 1TB M.2 would do the job) then a Cooler Master 212 if you have any budget left?

That's what I'd do personally. As Martin has said, you'd also need to factor in a decent cooler for the 5800X too which would take it over your extra spend.

thanks I'm going to swap out the hdd for a ssd and I think for now ill stay with the Ryzen 5 5600x so I wouldn't have to buy a cooler yet and use that extra cash towards one of those monitors as I was waiting for stock for that monitor I was previously talking about

Sounds good (y) If you want to prepare to upgrade to the 5800X, going for the B550 STRIX and AX200 WiFi card (if you need WiFi) wouldn't be a bad move, it's a better motherboard that'll better handle themore demanding CPU

So once I setup my pc I should stress test it too make sure the hardware is working as expected. Then Install windows 10 and the drivers for the gpu and motherboard onto a usb?

Delete the partitions and do a complete new install. The drivers what exactly need to be installed the chipset, lan, wireless & bluetooth? Should i also enable xmp or leave it disabled?

PCS should enable XMP for you, if they don't, I 100% would. It's all a pretty simple process for some sweet gains (y)

relating to the drivers do you know the exact ones I should be downloading should I download all of them?

And if I wanted to do a clean install of windows how would I do that delete all partitions?

Are you talkung about GPU drivers? I wrote this earlier so should be pretty simple to follow

1) Install GeForce Experience
2) Once GeForce Experience is downloaded, click on the drivers tab in the top left, it should detect that you have a new driver to download
3) Download the Driver
4) Once it's downloaded, click "Custom Install"
5) I'd select all the things it asks if you'd like to download then tick custom install in the bottom left, this will uninstall the previous drivers and download the latest ones for the GPU
6) Wait for it to install, and enjoy!

And if I wanted to do a clean install of windows how would I do that delete all partitions?
You'd want to create a media creation tool with a USB, then make it your primary boot drive in BIOS. It'll boot onto the USB then you'll want to go through the install process. At some point it'll ask you where you want to install Windows, if there are any partitions, you should be able to see them then and delete them there

It's a normal clean install since you've ordered without windows. It will come with a test windows, but you can't use that as it's not configured. So you do a clean install and allow windows update to configure all drivers except nvidia.

You've ordered without OS so it's understood you know how to install and configure windows yourself.

W10 instructions

Download a new copy of Windows using the Media Creation Tool to an 8GB (min) USB.
Boot that USB and choose a Custom Install.
Delete all UEFI partitions on the system drive (EFI System, Recovery, MSR Reserved, Primary).
Select the unallocated space that results and click the Next button. The installer will create the correct partitions and install Windows.
Run Windows Update repeatedly, even across reboots, until no more updates are found.
You may need/want to download and install the latest graphics driver from the Nvidia/AMD website (they change so regularly the latest version isn't always in the Windows libraries).

This is also worth a watch

May not gave been the smartest move on my end i ordered without win 10 because i had a licence already.

How do i allow all the drivers except nvidia to be updated and how come?

Always install the latest chipset drivers. I would actually do them first before even giving Windows a chance to do the updates. Just installing the Chipset Drivers creates new branches of hardware that requires drivers themselves. If you do the Windows update first, there's a chance these will be missed (a high chance if it's AMD). I've had conflicts in the past between the Windows Update & the Chipset (And at times the GPU, but that was on a Laptop and related to the chipset).

May go against the grain of the thoughts of some, but it's another of these lessons that I learned the hard way so I have stuck hard and fast to it. Not served me wrong yet :)

Thanks for that I saw your comment about what to do when setting up your new pc so I’ve been following those steps. I will first clean install windows 10 and then download the chipset drivers but do i also need like the lan the wireless drivers aswell?

I also saw that if i download the drivers its for windows 10 so if i upgrade to windows 11 those drivers wont work anymore would I need to delete and reinstall the windows 11 ones?

When you stress test how do you know the results you got are what is to be expected?

When you install windows update do you just avoid the ones for the nvidia drivers and chipset and install from the manufacturer website what happens with windows will that update be always pending and if i did it would replace the ones i installed?

I would always have the chipset drivers downloaded onto the USB before I started. Same goes for the Nvidia drivers and the Wireless/LAN just in case.

Most of the time Win10 will recognise the Wifi Chipset, unless it's really old, and have at least a starting point to get you going.

If you upgrade to Win11 it will tell you which drivers it doesn't have, so you can go about sourcing them. If all is OK then you don't really need to do anything.

You need to compare your results to the others on there. You need to weed out the super overclockers and just look at the average values for your system as it stands. You can post up here as a lot of us are experienced with what to look for.

With the updates, as long as you have done Nvidia and the Chipset before initiating an update check, anything not out of date will be ignored. They won't be out of date as you will have gotten the latest offerings already direct from the manufacturer (of course :D ).

what's the difference between me using the os they pre-installed and making a clean install because im not too confident on setting up all the drivers and the others.

The test OS isn't configured, you can't use it, it won't work.

hm that's what I was thinking I was chatting on the live chat and asked the guy he said that its a 1 month trial that will soon expire that all I need to do is activate the license and it will be the full version?

It's not configured, so will cause instability issues if you use it. Just change your specs and include OS if you're that unsure.
