Hi,

I've ordered a new gaming laptop with Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Processor i7-6700k (4.0GHz) which is now out of stock.
Can anyone advise whether it's worth waiting another 1-2 months for it or go with Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Processor i7-6700 (3.4GHz) which is available now? Will I notice a big difference?

I don't plan to overclock as I don't know much about computers. Simple language please:)

Thanks!

Rest of spec:
Memory (RAM) 32GB KINGSTON HYPER-X IMPACT 2400MHz SODIMM DDR4 (4 x 8GB)
Graphics Card NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 980M - 8.0GB DDR5 Video RAM, DirectX® 12, G-SYNC

Have you been told when the i7-6700k will be back in stock?
I ask as I ordered a build with that CPU at the end of last month, I got an email on 05/10/15 stating they were out of stock and haven't had any more communications from PS. I've tried calling and emailing to see when they will be back in but haven't received any reply.

hi, thanks for response, I said gaming as I do want to be able to play games like AC/Far Cry for the next few years but I play maybe 10% of time, the rest is multitasking (browsing, playing movies, music, photoshop, etc.), I tend to buy high spec laptops every 4-5 years
32gb ram? I guess the more the better? ;)
happy to hear advice

32GB RAM is a waste of money, for gaming you only need 8GB. If you are going to be video editing, working in photoshop or a lot of multi-tasking with many windows open 16GB would be needed. RAM is also a very simple upgrade, so if you ever wanted more you could add it then.

I might be wrong here but a k series cpu is a waste in a laptop due to its limited cooling. Your better off with the standard 6700.
