iCue help needed (can't configure Corsair H100i RGB PLATINUM Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler)

Hi guys, hoping someone can help me?

I've recently received my shiny new PC (which I'm loving) but am a little overwhelmed with setting up iCue!

Have somehow managed to get it to detect the 3 fans in the front of my CORSAIR OBSIDIAN SERIES™ 500D SE CASE (via lighting channel 1), but can't seem to get it to detect my Corsair H100i RGB PLATINUM Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler...is that likely to be on lighting channel 2?!)

I've attached a picture of what I see within iCue, and my spec of the PC is below in case that's helpful, but any suggestions of what to try would be welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Ok... youve got a little rewiring to do if im right...

Can you find your RGB controller, its likely to be in the back of the case stuck just below the black cable tidy/cover.
Do you have 5 fans connected to the RGB controller or 3? I'm expecting there to be 5...

I've attached a photo of the iCue Commander Pro unit, but it's perhaps also worth mentioning that the Corsair H100i RGB PLATINUM Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler is illuminated (I'm guessing it's in the default 'rainbow' mode - see attached photo also)

Its not the commander you want, its the RGB controller (although looking at that pic i would just check those connectors are in properly...)

dpOea8H.jpg
Im expecting the controller to have all five plugged into it, which wont work with ML and LL RGB. The two coming from the cooler fans need to be taken out
lUqVlUU.jpg
and plugged into the sockets coming from the cooling block (theres a USB plugged into it that will connect to the commander pro, and that has connectors for the fan lighting)

What worries me, is your pic of the commander pro doesnt have a usb plugged into it...which is where the H100i Plat should be plugged in (and might be why its not showing in iCue)

You have the same case and AIO that I do... So not sure why its been connected up differently.

Really appreciate the detailed reply, and will pick up again tomorrow as that's a bigger job than I'd bargained for...can just about see the RGB controller although it's behind a load of cables/wires that I need to carefully navigate! ...am guessing this is the challenge with a pre-made PC; I'm less than comfortable knowing what's connected and where, but guess this gives me a good opportunity to learn on what they've done for me!

Just hope I don't cause any other issues down the line trying to fix it! ;)

The bit you are gonna hate is that black cable tidy/cover...its going to have to come off, and unlikely to go back on!!
I really wasnt comfortable with the amount of force i would of had to use to fit mine back, it was packed solid.

How do I downvote the PC Specialist installer...or whoever did the QC? 😉

I did it with an email detailing the things i needed to adjust, and I would recommend contacting PCS about it as they dont really use the forums much.

I am curious why you have no USB plugged into your commander pro though... wondering where they ended up plugging that in instead!

Looking at YouTube installation videos for the H100i Plat, there’s no USB cable connected to the pump head unit end!! 🤷🏻‍♂️

The pump usb is right on the end, should go to a USB header on the commander pro if configured correctly, if not then on the motherboard but given you've got the Tuf mobo, it's restricted on on board USB ports, sometimes they've left a component just not plugged in which is really poor. Do double check where the pump is plugged into before putting the machine through it's paces:

...H100i Plat RGB?
I assure you theres a connection on the block, theres also two wires coming out the top of it
pACm3H0.jpg

The USB one (on left) should be routed round and be connected into the commander pro, the wires coming out the top will be routed tthrough and will have the two connectors on the end, which you then plug the connectors from the ML fans into (which are likely currently plugged into the RGB controller)

I think what spyder says about it not being plugged in at all...might be whats going on?
Seen as you said it doesnt show the H100i in iCue at all?

Yeah that USB cable to the left simply isn’t there, you might be able to see that from my earlier pics...will see if they shipped it to me in the welcome pack, or simply omitted it altogether.

It should be in the welcome pack then (well, it should be plugged in really!!), and its definately something you need to be speaking to PCS directly about.

I would mention the need to rewire some bits, and that the AIO isnt connected up properly, and see if you can swing a little extra warranty time or something.... It should not have got past QC the way it is.

While you are there, check how close the Commander pro is to the other two SSD caddies (they fix it in place in one of the SSD spaces...but too tight and you wont then be able to use one of the empty caddies either... I had a real job getting both my SSD's properly in mine when I got it.) Take some pics of everything before you start, and send those along to show any issues you find.

@sibun1 is absolutely right, if the USB isn't in there, there's no way it should have passed QC, that controls the pump (as well as interfaces with iCue), without it plugged in, the cooler just aint working.

I can confirm 100% that it's not connected, just found the USB cable in the box! o_O

Will let you know what PCS say, and may attempt to resolve it myself later...although might be a weekend job given I'll want to be taking my time and using some of the daylight to help me navigate the inner workings of the case!

That's bad that they didn't install it, but good that you have got it to install, be interesting to hear what PCS have to say, hopefully it shouldn't be to bad a job to install

In your screen shot of iCue under devices at the top there are three items shown. The right hand one is the motherboard and the middle one is Commander Pro where you adjust RGB and speed for the case fans. The device on your left is difficult to see from the screen shot but is it your H100i RGB? If so then click on that and you would be able to adjust RGB and fan speeds there.

Hi Don, that's the Corsair VENGEANCE RGB PRO memory x 2 - with an additional 2 dummy RGB sticks as suggested by @AgentCooper)

I'll be honest I haven't had much success with getting the motherboard RGB lighting to do anything yet, so that might be my next issue...but happy to just focus on getting the CPU cooler right for now!

Thanks for clarifying the icon was a bit small on screenshot so I couldn't tell.

I have the same case and getting the motherboard RGB working with iCue took some sorting! I had to remove Armoury Crate and just install Aura before I could control the motherboard lighting.
