IDE controller not working

i had a virus on my pc and managed to get rid of it, though its says now its saying the AIQ51DOR IDE controller is damaged and i cant find anything about.
i guess its the driver but no idea on how to fix it

Hi, whats the full spec of the machine?

It is unlikely the controller is physically damaged, what does device manager have to say on the subject?

when i ask it to update the driver it says

WINDOWS WAS UNABLE TO INSTALL YOUR AIQ51DOR IDE CONTROLLER

Window could not find driver software for your divice
If you know the manufacturer of your divice, you can visit its website and check the support section for the drivers software

sorry but no it didnt work :(
this is what i downloaded
Intel Chipset Inf Update Program V9.1.1.1014 for Windows XP 32bit/XP 64bit/Vista 32bit/Vista 64bit Win7 32bit/64bit
is it the right one?
should i uninstall the damaged driver first? or at least disable it?
sorry im a noob when it comes to this sort of thing :/

are you 100% sure you are clear of any virus/malware.

Yes remove the driver.

Might be a long shot but are there any device on you IDE port? difficult to guess with the age of you system spec whether or not the DVDRW is IDE or SATA.

Im trying to keep a straight face after seeing your pc name lol.

Anyway, I went bk on the asus download section and I found that there is a newer version of the intel storage controller that is NOT under chipset but rather under 'other' here's the link to your mobo again. Please give this driver a whirl. You also need to right click uninstall driver from that IDE controller, its still trying to use an old driver.

Do that before installing this driver.

w-s-m??? Southampton Bournemouth area. Did you uninstall the ide controller in dev manager first and reboot? I csn try tomorrow if you like, on TV, pm if u want.

plus it would cost shit loads.

still nothing even when i re-boot
maybe i still have a virus :/ though none of the anti virus programs are find anything
