hello
I was just wondering... I was thinking of getting a custom built laptop from PCS... I just wanted to know...

With the spec I picked will everything come already installed? Windows? drivers for graphics card? drivers for audio etc etc etc?

So I dont need to install any OS or drivers my self? It will all be done when it arrives? and the laptop will be good to go straight away?

Thank you

Yes, everything such as drivers should be installed already, possibly not the very latest drivers if new drivers have been recently released though.

You will have to finish of the installation such as naming your PC, connecting to your router and setting up your user accounts, but everything else should be good to go

thanks for the info :)

just to add...

If they do install drivers for the graphics card for example... how can windows not of been "used" if u know what i mean?
as they would need to install drivers either from a cd/dvd or downloaded from the internet

as they would have to of named the pc/laptop and finished the windows install to get onto the desktop to install the graphics drivers... just abit confused lol. if anybody can shed some light on this i would appreciate it.
Thank you

They install Windows, install all the drivers, do the testing and then when it's all good to go they run a program called SysPrep (I think that's what its called)which basically sets its to a point where it seems like a brand new PC on its first start up and needs the name setting and networks setting up etc - but drivers, programs installed stay as is.

AFAIK, from a software standpoint buying a computer from PCS is no different than buying one from the high street. If you order it with an OS it will come ready to go, all you'll have to do is customise it to your needs as Rakk has already said. The only difference between a PCS computer and a high street computer (apart from the performance, build quality, and price of course) is that you won't get any unnecessary bloatware on a PCS computer.
