After a 31 working day wait, the laptop built for my granddaughter has arrived, has had its bespoke educational and communications applications installed and has had its backup and antiviral software configured and installed. We hope to get many years of use from this kit and stave off upgrades and / or repurchase of hardware (although who knows what the future of IT may bring to us). We went with a very large RAM installation (in PC terms) as a lot of usage will be graphic design and animation. A fair amount of SSD and near line backup was also commissioned and purchased for the storage of large graphics and animation. For the same reason quite an emphasis was placed on gaming graphics technology (screen and card) because it was surmised that the same demands used for gaming would be in play for a budding PC graphic artist, which seems to be the direction her career path is heading.

The working day production time was 31 days. This may seem excessive, but, one has to take into account, with the chassis initially unavailable and on order, the delays introduced by the lunar new year festival - in country of order origin - and the delays that would have been caused by laptop component demand during the global coronavirus pandemic, with a high demand for PC equipment meant for education and remote computing / communication. Under the circumstances PCSpecialist did a splendid job with very good feedback and updates.
