I've recently just upgraded my gpu whilst waiting for my order, i'm wondering if the monitor i've ordered is good enough for the spec?

Is it good enough? Sure. Is it good enough to utilise the full power of that GPU? Nope. You really want a 4k 144Hz monitor or a Superwide to utilise it properly.
Thank you for your reply, i am of the understanding about not using the full potential just needed clarifying that it was suitable for 1440 gaming with that card.

my intial idea when i put the build together was to only have to future proof the monitor and gpu but with waiting 34 months in pre production i've able to upgrade the graphics card and just ned the monitor for future.

have you had any experiance with this monitor in the past?....

34 months in preproduction? We have a winner!

That monitor has pretty universally excellent reviews, but I'd personally always choose a superwide if pairing with a top end GPU, it's just a far better experience all round for both productivity and gaming.

The samsung G9 is the one to go for.

I agree with you completely, i've been eyeballing it but i'm restricted to space and i'm really pushing my budget atm, i'd have to take a personal loan out to afford it :D

with taking the iyama out of the order it free's up £289 to put towards a new monitor so i'm just pondering over the asus.

it is meant for competitive gaming anyway so i would be playing/maxing out 1440p most of the time anyway, the 4k aspect is when i can find a game to stand on the edge of a cliff and just bask in the beauty of what ever world i'm exploring at the time.

it's a dilema but it's a beautiful dilema to have :)

The other option is the older G9 model which is the same but 144Hz rather than 240Hz....

It's still a superb panel and comes in around the same budget as the Asus:

Samsung C49HG90 49" QLED Freesync 144Hz Curved Gaming Monitor - Laptops Direct

Obviously size is still an overall impact. If that's a no go, then the one you linked is a great option.
Thats beautiful also!

The main issue is always going to be the size (just looking to see if i can get away with taking out the wall next to me to make room) :p

And also as i mentioned i'll be playing in 1440p mostly trying to make the most of FPS, so i'm torn between these (for now) the aim will always be that G9 because it's the dog's b######k's basically

That gives me 4k and does everything but lacks the complete immersion or i could go best 1440p monitor

Decisions, Decisions.... like i said though it's a beautiful dilema to have :p

@Nursemorph @SpyderTracks

I've looked all over and could'nt find any in stock so i came up with this....

New stock arrives the 30th so fingers crossed i can get one by then? the reviews seem to be really good and the freesync premium pro will just work with my new AMD war machine it can be manually overclocked also to reach 160hz.

I factored in everything you beautiful gents have mentioned and like said i'll be playing mainly 1440p but to have the 4k there is a special bonus. whether it'll make a differance with it being 27" i don't know yet but with the little space i'm allowed to game in (due to the dragon, sat across the room) :p it'll be perfect :)

If all else fails and i find it's not suitable which i think it will be, then i can always send it back, like i mentioned for under £1000 it seems to make sence, the £285 saved from the iyama will go towards also as when i started this amazing procedure to upgrade by existing little 9 year old war machine, it was meant to be a budget build that i've smashed already :p
