What are you going to be using it for? The 12Gb of RAM might be overkill if you're not running anything that can utilize it.

Mostly gaming though i need it for work too, image and graphic editing. Idealy i just want it to run Diablo 3 perfectly.

I would downsize the RAM to 8GB and don't bother with the Kingston get the cheaper one...... and use the money to update the GPU to a GTX570. That would be my advice!

Hey bg92,

why the change of case? The previous one has 3 built in fans.
Also wouldnt the i7 980 (six core i think) be better than i7 2600k (quad) for gaming (ignoring the price)
Change of motherboard for the intergratable graphics?

I also couldnt figure out how to build this get up through the 'build your own desktop' in the 'crossfire gaming' set up you can have the processor and motherboard you suggest but not the gpu. In the 'SLI gaming' setup you can have the the GPU but the processor and motherboard are not available. HELP!

In games you will see no difference between the i7-980 and the i7-2600k, also graphics cards are usually more important in games.
You can build this pc by pressing on this link http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/computers/intel-sandy-bridge-pc/ The change of case isn't necessary, btw do you have a budget?
The motherboard which i've selected is enough for nees, there is no need to spend more money on a motherboard unless you are considering serious overclocking.

What samsung are you talking about? And what is it meant to better then?

They will have very similar performance. I suggested kingston ram , the K version of the cpu and titan fenrir as the cooler so you could overlcock the pc in the future.
The main difference is the speed, the kignston is 1600mhz while the samsung is 1333mhz, and the kingston has heatsinks while the samsung doesn't.

Yeah wasnt planning on overclocking so point taken on the motherboard.
Also you have a IIYAMA screen, ive never heard of them, you have one, they actually anygood?
Budgets around £2000 so i want somthing thatll last and upgrade as i go. I notice your systems very similiar to the one u recommend, ever had any problems with yours and how long have you had it?

I've had my system for 10 months, and didn't have any major issues, everything is performing well.
I've changed the previous spec a bit so you will be able to add another gtx580 for sli in the future.
But in fact my system is very different to the one I've recommended before, as the only things which are the same are soundcard, case and the cpu cooler, and ram but I have 6gb.
This system will proveide better performance then the one I have.

Iiyama have been around for years, I finally replaced my 6 year old one last year and that was only cos it was a 17" screen and not big enough anymore :), it still works perfectly fine and still has a very sharp picture.

My new Iiyama is very nice as well (I've got the E2472HD), the Iiyama's also come with a DVI cable supplied as well.

Another bg92 thing why the two hard drives and not RAID? And you think the Bigfoot Killer Networking is unnecessary?
Just out of interest whered you learn all this? You studying a Computing IT course?

Cheers Rakk thats good to hear. I was worried. Whats better anyway using the DVI cable or HDMI?

Im ultimalety getting this cos i want somthing thats going to run Diablo 3 (when its eventually out) absolutely flawlessly!

thats a tasty spec bg92 has put together there.

Jambers, the reason for the 2 hard drive and no RAID is that they are different kinds of drive and different sizes so RAID would be wasted (not that it is any good in my opinion). I too have an Iiyama monitor and the picture quality is brilliant but the built in speakers aren't all that good.

It doesn't matter if you use DVI or HDMI, they both pass the same singal to the monitor just with a different kind of connection.

Well they do pretty much the same job anyways.
My point was more the fact that with quite a few monitors you only get a VGA cable, which is obviously worse than both DVI and HDMI :)

Big foot killer is a waste of money, it doesn't provide performance boost that you would notice at all.
The SSd hard drive is actually much faster then any mechinacl hard drive even in raid, but it costs a lot of money and your are not getting high capacity. Therefore the secondary harddrive is a caviar black which is quick enough for storeage and less frequently used programs.
Remember to only install the main games your are playing on the SSd and only programs which will actually benefit from quicker loading times. as 120gb will not take long to be filled up.

bg92 help please!!

I cannot figure out how to build it, if i go through the Crossfire/SLI - SLI route on the Custom build i cannot have the processor or motherboard suggested. Where as if i go though the Crossfire/SLI - Crossfire route i can have the recommended processor and motherboard but only AMD RADEON graphics card!!!!!!!
