Lafite II Pro 14" - media editing spec check

I'm putting together a spec for a laptop for media editing - primarily photos but occasionally some video. Primarily that means I'm looking for lots of storage and a mid-range dedicated graphics card for hardware acceleration for photo/video rendering & export. I'd also like this laptop to last a few years so I've intentionally overspecced in some areas, particularly RAM.

I'm coming from an old desktop PC with a Core i5-750, 4GB RAM, Radeon RX 550 and a mechanical 7200rpm media drive (SSD for the OS) so I already know this is going to blow that machine out of the water, this is more of a sanity check to make sure I've not done something silly!

A couple of initial thoughts/queries:

• I've gone with the i5 instead of the i7 because the performance difference between the two seems to be very marginal (~2% on the benchmarks I've looked at)
• Any opinions on the Enmotus Fuzedrive? I like the idea of the improved endurance but I'm slightly wary about it being new tech. If I don't go with this, I'd be speccing a 2TB 'standard' SSD instead, probably the Intel.

What is your maximum budget? Are you keeping your old PC? If not, you could transfer the Windows licence and save about £100.

Absolute max budget is £1300 which I'm already pretty close to. I'm not keeping the old PC but the Windows 10 install on it is an upgrade from Windows 7 (it's very old!) so I can't transfer the licence unfortunately.

If you link the licence to a Microsoft account, you should be able to transfer the licence. It shouldn’t matter that it was upgraded from Window 7.

Ah ok, interesting. Isn't there also something about if I don't spec windows with the system then PCS won't provide software configuration support though?

PCS don't provide a great deal of software support in any case - we do that on here!
