My Budget : I am ready to put 1500 GBP if necessary, so i am comfortably under budget with the current specs. There is room for improvement if there is value for money.
The use i plan vs chassis requirements
My main issue for the moment has been to pick the mainframe of the laptop as it was not very easy to compare the various models on the website ... if we need to build from another base than the Optimus, your advice iswelcome !
About the Chassis and Display (where i need the most advice)
I went to 15" because i do travel a lot (or used to at least ...) and got scared of the room in my backpacks if i went for a 17" (even if the extra inches are always nice), same problem as with my car ... needs to be spacious inside but small outside to find parking spots more easily.
If the whole balance make you believe that a 17'' will be better, i am happy to change as the advantage of the 15'' and of the 17'' balance out quite evenly for me
Also, as I travel a lot, including to dodgy countries : if my computer look ugly, i am happy with that ! I would rather avoid the gaming designs that tell "Steal me i am expensive" (Once again, i take care of the key marks on my car to make it less attractive to steal) and am happy with a black box with a screen.
Rest of the specs
Beyond that, i am not a crazy gamer (Europa Universalis is probably the only game i play ...) but i do edit videos and will have to do more and more of it.
I am quite confident with the rest of the specs, but any advice (500GB Samsung vs 500GB intel etc sounded the same to me, you probably know more than me if some huge differences are worth the extra quid.
Thanks for your help !
Edit : I will add the 5£ extra warranty after reading other threads... No need to tell me to add this
