Laptop spec check: Skyrim-rank gaming

Drastically in need of a new laptop. Really quite like gaming. Not sure about building computers. Hence the thread. =D

My objective with this system is to get a laptop capable of running Skyrim on somewhat reasonable settings (close to "Recommended" as possible). This should let me run nearly everything currently out there, and then last for at least a few more years. Aside from gaming, it'll mostly be used for the regular multimedia shenanigans.

Currently, I've got:

Which brings me dead on my budget of £800.

(Okay, technically my budget is £700, but I persuaded myself to go a bit further).

(And as for the arbitrary benchmark, the graphics card can't QUITE hit recommended settings, but everything else blows past them).

So yes. Any help, feedback, performance-to-cost evaluations, and any other sanity checks would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

that's pretty close to my machine, and i can run Skyrim on high (@1366x768) with no issues :)

i would drop Norton, there are many free Anti-Virus programs such as Avast or Microsoft Security Essentials. perhaps spend the £14 on the better Thermal Paste, or maybe the 17.3" chassis which is only a few pounds extra i think.

Thanks for the feedback!

Took your advice and moved up to the 17.3" chassis... which for some reason made some of the components a couple of quid cheaper, so was able to afford both the extra screen and the better paste. Which I think was worth dropping Norton. Only force of habit that made me pick it anyway. >.>

the HDD is a bit small for my tastes as i have 180GB used simply for iTunes and Steam games (all my steam games), but you can upgrade it easily in the future if it becomes a problem for you.
if you can extend the budget by £20 you could get the WD Scorpio Black 750GB HDD, which also runs at 7200RPM, and would save having to buy a bigger drive in the future if needed, but it might not be necessary for you :)
