Little help?

Dispatched - due tomorrow! I'm liable to return and gush about it here once all set up so sorry in advance to anyone who has to deal with that.

This baby's been through a few iterations since I first posted in August, due largely to what I've learned browsing this forum. Figure the least I can do share the results you've all (directly or indirectly) contributed to ❤

What was the final spec you got?
You'll get tracking off DPD telling you when its going to be due... If you have the app on your phone its quite handy.

RGB demo here. (pre-that peeling feeling, sorry!)

So yeah about a week into pre-production I decided to stop compromising and get what I actually wanted. My work also recently released better ways of accessing our stuff from home using our own devices, so I decided to double up as a work machine.

Switched up to a 2070S (Nursemorph's recommendation) paired with a 3700X. The former is performing beautifully in my regular games, and the latter has already justified its existence by being able to run Microsoft Teams as if it doesn't hunger for memory like the guy from Memento. (Half joking - I do some pretty processor-intensive work and this is a marked improvement across the board.) Also splurged for RGB RAM because I'm a big baby who likes colours.

Finally opted for the Coolermaster H500 case paired with the Sickleflow fans 3-pack. The fans arrived hooked up to their bundled button controller but it was easy enough to move them to a spare ARGB header on the mobo for full sync.

I agonised for a bit over whether to wait for the 3070. All rational arguments say I should have, but in truth I was just anxious to get the thing. As soon as I even started scoping the build, my old PC started passive aggressively performing worse because it knew it was about to be put out to pasture. I am sure I am not alone in experiencing this remarkable phenomenon. In any case there's room to grow and I can always upgrade in a couple of years if I feel the need.

Guys, I'll level with you. I've had an extremely crappy year, even if you ignore the dreaded 'rona looming over most of it. I'm turning 30 in a couple of weeks and this was my gift to myself for making it this far in one piece. Gaming with friends online has been a huge source of comfort over the last few months, and logging into Sea of Thieves last night with everything turned up to full whack at 144FPS was a dream come true. Not to mention Cyberpunk 2077 coming over the horizon...

Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, for your insights and advice. You've helped salvage what promised to be a rather miserable 30th birthday.
