Hi guys,
I have a problem with my secondary SSD disappearing. I'm pretty new on SSDs and NVMes so I would appreciate any help you can offer.
I bought the rig from PCS back in March and haven't made any changes to it since then. I'll include the system specs below but the disk drives are as follows:
It is the 2nd Drive that has disappeared. I was using the PC as usual and attempted to run a game through Steam/Ubisoft Connect and it seemed to run into a problem and would not start. I had to kill both processes as they became non-responsive. Steam started throwing out an error when I tried to start it up again
'Steam package not writable'. All of the data for games and their launchers are stored on the second drive.
After doing some digging I found these in the event monitor:
And then many. many of this Warning all firing at the same time:
And looking further up the list the first of these:
I've tried multiple restarts and checked the BIOS and the second drive doesn't show up anywhere there. I also tried leaving the system off for an hour in case that helped. I can find it in hidden devices in Device Manager but the status says: 'Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)'
So I think the second SSD has died? I haven't had any issues with it until now so I was hoping you could offer me some advice.
