Memory on wrong MHz setting

Hey, i noticed my KINGSTON HYPERX BEAST DUAL-DDR3 2400MHz X.M.P is set to the wrong MHz, its set at 1300 (ish) at the moment and i was hoping someone could point me in the right direction for some info, i can see how to change this in the Bios should i change it?

It's safe to select an XMP profile in bios settings,or alternatively some bios settings have the option to set the speed manually.

From this http://ark.intel.com/products/77780 the i7-4930K processor supports memory of DDR3 1333/1600/ 1866. Not sure why you ordered 2400Mhz memory but suggest you reset to 1866.

Thanks, I already done it through xmp, stays at 1333, tried to set it to 2400(pc just stalled on reboot), didn't realise gpu was restricted to 1866 max, I will try to set it to that, probably pcs shouldn't give option of 2400mhz if the gpu isn't capable, thanx for your help

It is the motherboard which basically limits the speed of the RAM (the GPU has nothing to do with it).
The motherboard you have chosen can run it at 2400MHZ but only when overclocking, without overclocking it only supports RAM speeds upto 1866MHz.

That's odd my ram which is the same as yours was running at 1600, however I just increases it through the bios settings to 2400 and it's stayed at that setting ever since, my cpu is not overlooked, I have the Asus hero motherboard

Are you sure your actually running it at those speeds, according to the asus website the hero can only run up to 1600Mhz unless overclocked, the board is possibly downclocking it automatically?

It is definetley running at 2400 we did it with the Asus Bios you have to select it and manually increase it.

Double checked in the Bios can confirm my RAM is running at 2400MHz

Thanx Rakk, i know a bit about pc's but as you can see I am a noob lol, i tried to set it to 1866 over weekend through the bios, my pc then decided that it wouldnt boot up past the pcs pre-bios screen, eventually after trying a few things it let me onto bios (about 30th attempt!) and i reset it back to 1333, and touch wood it fixed it, i also noticed there are some recent bios updates so i think i need to do this as from reading them briefly there is some stuff to do with dram etc

Hey again, as you can see, could do with some help/pointers with this, if i set my PC to oc setting (through bios/ AI), will this automatically adjust the ram, or will i need to change that myself and to what mhz should/could it be set too?
Any help is appreciated

I don't think OC'ing the processor will automatically OC the ram. Your ram is capable of 2400mhz so you should just be able to change the speed in the bios.
