My battery is swollen. Is there a replacement I can get outside of UK?

Hi,

I noticed that my battery got swollen too much, it did this to my trackpad. Also the backcover is hard to put in place because of this.

What might have caused this?

I am outside of the UK, can I get compatible batteries elsewhere?

TongFang don't have spare parts like other manufacturers do, Clevo for instance have official parts sellers all over the world, but TongFang don't, I think you have to order parts through a system integrator like PCS.

You can try to find a system integrator in europe that sells that chassis, but personally, I'd just order a replacement from PCS.

Further to this, if the laptop is within 6 months old, I believe there's still a warranty on the battery, so it would be replaced for free.

Thank you for the advice, I would remove the battery off for now. How could it have been over charged? Is it because I keep the charger plugged a lot of time?

Thank you. I am in Turkey right now and monsternotebooks seems to use tongfang boards. I think Monster Abra is close to my model.
Some batteries seems to be sold. I will try to find something compatible.

Just be aware that not getting it RMA'd with PCS may invalidate your warranty.

I think that's unlikely unless there was a fault in the charging circuits. Its more likely that it's got hot. Li-ion batteries do not like getting hot. Once they start to fail they generate more heat which just accelerates the problem.

A quick search and I can find it on aliexpress, ebay, amazon, and a few other sites.
Will that generally be a safe buy?

You don't need to be in the UK to order from PCSpecialist, they serve all of europe.

I would strongly recommend getting an official battery and not a knock off.

Aftermarket parts like batteries often tend to be lower quality than the original. One of these batteries will work but may not hold a usable charge for as long as the original and may not last as long either.

Unfortunately PCSpecialist doesn't deliver to Turkey.

I am OK with using the lap temporarily without a battery but I noticed a huge performance issue that I decided to make in a separate post.
