need help asap

have a couple of ideas for a semi gaming desktop computer for Christmas so need to make a final decision soon.

I have around £650 up to a limit of £715 to spend on a PC

he said that this was more "future proof" because of the motherboard that allows for cross fired cards
(with the 600W power supply to match so no need for an upgrade if i get another 6850)


What would your thoughts be on both systems?

Go with the second build but upgrade the power supply to the TX650 and get the silver warranty. The HD6850 and GTX460 perform very similarly but I prefer the HD6850. Nvidia have a larger GPU market share, need to help AMD catch up

also why the 650W not just the 600?

Well, its a bit of extra umph when it's needed, and the Corsair power supplies are very good quality.

What do you plan on doing with the system?

mostly would be playing sc on medium - high settings
some basically some slight gaming
nothing too heavy
