After advice for the best CPU cooler for an overclocked 5900x.
Was going with the H100i platinum. Or is it better to go with the H115i platinum.
Any advice would be appreciated
Also is it worth upgrading to the 850 RMx over the 850 RM
H115i platinum is the way to go. Also there's no reason to OC the 5900X unless you're using it for some super powerful stuff, it can handle pretty much anything on stock settings.
850W RMx is better, but it's out of stock for a while, but if you were looking to upgrade to that, 1000W version is only a little bit more than 850 in price, and it's the one for the future
So after much chopping and changing i have finally settled on this build. Mainly 1440p gaming with the option to upgrade to 4k and the odd work related task.
Any advice is welcome

Morning! Build is largely sound but there’s really no need to overclock a Ryzen chip. They’re designed with a frequency boost which acts as built in overclocking. There have been reports of OC’d processors actually having impaired performance. And if you’re gaming at 1440p, the 3080 is wasted unless you’re using a monitor like the Samsung G9.
Thanks. Initially it will be 1440p but eventually I might go 4k so wanted enough to be able to do that in the future.
Thanks for the advice I will look at requesting a change to stock 5900x. 👍
No problem. I’m using a 3070 with a an ultrawide 1440p 144Hz monitor and it’s brilliant. It’ll also do 4K at 60Hz, I just want to make sure you’re getting the best value for your money. If you’ve no plans to get a 4K 144Hz monitor for a year or two then I’d urge you to seriously reconsider the 3080 as by that time there’ll be new tech out there that usurps that card and that’ll have been an extra £200 spent now that’s been wasted 👍
