New build specs - CPU Cooling Conundrums

Hi Everyone,

The time has come for me to do a complete renewal (My current PC was last upgraded in 2017).

I primarily go for gaming, but also do a bit of video production, a bit of streaming, a bit of 3D modelling. I have knocked together the below spec, with a budget of around £3,500. The 1440 monitor is fine for now, I will probably upgrade that in the future. Same for the mouse and Keyboard.

My desk limits the Case width to a max of about 236/237mm.

But my main sticking point is around CPU cooling, I feel hesitant about AIO, so I am not overly sure if I should go for that or stick with the air cooler. PCS have recommended an AIO, but again. I am hesitant to go for it, so wonder what others think.

I think you've over-shot some areas (specifically the RAM and the storage is weird). You will definitely want an AIO.

What was your thinking with the RAM? Was it to aid the Video production or 3D modelling? Just that you've said "a bit" so I didn't think they would be limited by 32GB. With that being said there's nothing wrong with 64GB of RAM, I have it myself specifically for FS2024, but there's no need for any other gaming use at the moment (and I think it's also been proven there's no need for FS2024 either anyway).

With a RAM, storage and cooling tweak I think you would be right on for a good all round system. I would want to spend a bit more on a monitor though. Does the monitor have similar space constraints to the case? Ultrawide would be my choice in your shoes. Makes a big difference for gaming & productivity. Are you using a multi-monitor setup?
