(It was originally an overclocked PC but I amended this and increased the GPU to a 760 - it will primarily be a gaming PC)

Please tell me what you think?

For that price including an OS of Windows 8.1 and the parts used, I think it looks pretty impressive. I have shopped around and all equivalents come out at between £900-£1000+...

I apologise, it wasn't my intention. I was given advice to go to the PCS forums as they would provide a good spec PC and I have always had this site bookmarked and search on it all the time before I joined the forums. I was just really wondering what PCS can do for me with above/similar specs?

Ah Ha, now we're getting somewhere, good stuff. How did you put all those requirements in and get a price like that? I tried it and was met with red, but I know I put all the correct compatible requirements in. I even tested it with a pre-built one clicked on amend but didn't actually amend anything, clicked on continue and was met with red - didn't change anything, so not sure if thats a bug!?

Anyhow, thanks for such a quick response, appreciated. I would like to confirm specifics with you.

I would like spec to be Intel Core i5 preferably/if possible 4670
At least (if possible) 3.4 Ghz CPU
Windows 8.1 OS
8GB RAM
1TB HD
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 2GB ?

Case/Cooler/Mobo/PSU - as long as its compatible with the above specs especially the PSU wattage please?

Also, that quote you gave me (and hopefully any future ones), I take it that this PC spec will be built for me, i.e. I don't want these parts sent to me for me to build, I want them made for me so I don't have to do anything? :)

I'm not used to AMD, you say they are better GPU and Hard Drive, ok cool thanks, I thought Intel was a touch better than AMD?

Just curious why at least 3.4 Ghz?
An fx-6300 with the R9-280x will be significantly better than an i5 + gtx 760

I suppose really my thinking was one dimensional. I have googled, researched and read alot to be armed with knowledge etc. My current PC is 7 years old and I don't really want a crappy pre-built like I had. I believed Intel was the way to go and had the edge on AMD (I know AMD is probably better value but maybe not quality?), so I always put specs in when searching for Intel Core i5, I really in all honesty never looked at AMD.

Would this change anything for me, do I need to know anything else if I were to proceed??

I still not sure why 3.4 Ghz, sounds a bit random to me. The intel equivalent will be better than an AMD cpu but if you have a tight budget an AMD cpu provides better value for money and you don't need to compromise in other components like the gpu. The majority of games are gpu dependant.

You could get a caviar black which is faster than the standard HDD and a triple copper heatpipe cpu cooler.

Thanks.

From reading other posts and advice, I thought the standard cooler would be fine as I am not overclocking etc so thought I wouldn't need tripple copper?

Btw, is my PSU, case and mobo all okay?

AMD CPUs run cooler at stock clock speed than the intel equivalent. It advised to get the triple copper heatpipe with intel CPUs if you are going to use it for gaming, the triple copper heatpipe is not suitable for overclocking.

Cheers Keynes, I'm nearly there now.

Just the last question above - is the PSU, case and mobo all okay/compatible in your opinion?

If you're already spending that much, an extra £5 on the silver warranty might not hurt :) (1 year collect and return rather than 1 month)
