New Gaming PC - £3500 budget advice please

Almost 10 years ago I bought my 2nd PC from PC Specialist, and it's finally time to get the 3rd! The GTX 1080 served faithfully and will be going to a nice farm with all the other good graphics cards where it can run benchmarks all day.

Budget wise looking to stay under £3,500 but there is headroom if makes sense. Have looked at some other Check this spec! threads and tried to take into account some of the advice already shared.

- I will be playing mostly strategy games and some flight simulator, but would also like to play Cyberpunk and upcoming GTA at very good settings
- This PC will be in my home office, so ideally will run quiet too and not looking for any bright RGB LEDs
- My current monitor is an AW3821DW Ultrawide at 3840 x 1600 resolution. May upgrade in a few years
- Would like this to be another long term PC without needing upgrades, so looking to future proof as well (8 years of decent performance is good)
- I've gone with the 5080 as it may be a little more than I'd need right now, but should be a very decent card for 5 years at least

That looks like a beast to me, and notwithstanding the current 50-series issues, the 5080 would be perfect for that almost 4k screen.

Thanks, I read a bit about 5080/90 issues but assume there'll be a recall and replacement if needed. Maybe I should upgrade the warranty though...

IIRC (and others will chime in if I!m wrong), the GPU will have a longer manufacturer warranty on it, so PCS would still repair it, but return it to the manufacturer for replacement.

Ok, slight change of plan! Looking at lead times on the 5080, plus need for a PC sooner rather than later due to current one failing, I have made the following changes:

- Removed graphics card, and plan is to order with the AMD 9070XT when they are released end of the week (assuming they have stock!) I can then consider upgrading the graphics card in a year or two when hopefully supply as stabilised a bit and maybe a 5080S or something similar has come out if I feel the graphics card is holding me back on what I want to play at that point. Also means I have left a lot of headroom in the PSU.
- Increased storage for photo editing

Any feedback on this build? The case and PSU should be fine for any expected graphics cards over next 5 or so years I would hope...
