Hey guys.
Currently looking at getting a laptop for when I go to University in September. I'm studying Software Engineering so I'd like a laptop then I can take with me to University and to my girlfriend's house if need be.
It doesn't need to be light or easy to carry. I don't live too far from my University.
I would like it to have a decent sized screen, so the 11" option is not an option. I'm leaning towards the 15.6" Enigma IV. I would also like the screen to be Full HD. I've chosen the the AUO 95% Gamut screen as after a small about of research online, I found out that it is better. What exactly is this screen, why is it better? I could always drop this to the regular matte screen.
I've selected an i7-3630QM processor. This is because it is quad-core and I'll likely have multiple programs open at one time. It is only 2.4GHz but the faster options are a lot more expensive.
I've chosen a 120GB Kingston SSD/750GB WD Scorpio Black storage combination. This is to ensure my laptop boots as fast as possible and so I still have a decent amount of storage space.
I've chosen 8GB of Kingston Hyper-X Genesis RAM. I currently have 8GB of Corsair Vengeance 1333MHz RAM in my PC and would like something a bit better.
This laptop comes with a Nvidia 650M which I do not need as I am not going to be doing any graphics production or gaming on this laptop. Is there any way to remove it?
I do not need an operating system. I already have a copy of Windows 8 I purchased when it was cheap.
I'd like to keep the laptop around the same price of the one I have configured (£797).
