New monitor

Hi guys,

I'm thinking about upgrading my monitor for my gaming desktop (specs in sig) and was looking at the BENQ XL2411T 23.6" 1MS 3D MONITOR. Does anybody know if this is good or can you recommend something better? Budget of about £250, obviously cheaper is nice.
I think 24" is probably as big as I want to go as I only sit about 600mm away from the screen and am still debating with myself whether or not to get a second monitor.3

Also, I have just noticed that it's a 3D monitor, I assume my 670 would still max out games playing on 3d?

Thanks

benq xl2420t - then use the lightboost hack - lots of tutorials online atm - turns your monitor into a crt style monitor...

or

the asus vn247h - great little monitor 1ms response time full hd 1080p and ultra thin bezels.

I literally just got the Benq XL2411T today. It's a brilliant colour and I don't know what people are on about saying colours are bad out of the box. I've seen no problems with mine.

Mine was £240 including postage.

I also have a GTX670 and it's been fine running games at around 120fps. I don't have the 3D kit yet though as I doubt I could maintain a good frame rate with 1 GTX670. 24 inch is plenty big enough! The screen is huge xD

P.s. the XL2411T is actually newer than the XL2420T and fixed a lot of the problems... only disadvantage is less ports and no s-switch which isn't that major.

I can vouch for the benq xl2420t, lovely screen and I don't know how i could have lived without 120hz :)

One thing I don't like is the touch buttons, which I can never get to work

The Asus VG248QE 24inch monitor is what I'd recommend but not currently with the price tag it has with your budget. It's suppose to retail at 180 when it was announced at CES but searches shows it's a lot higher though it is a monitor to look out for.

I think the Asus is aimed at the US market where as the Benq XL2411T is kind of the UK/Europe equivalent due to price for performance. I've been using the XL2411T for a day now and it's a cracking monitor.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. The asus vn247h looks nice, its just a shame it only has 50(ish)hz refresh rate I think I will probably go for the XL2411T as it seems to be the best for my budget.

This is probably a daft question but is it possible to use it for my xbox as well as pc so for example could I use DVI from the PC and HDMI from the xbox?

Thanks

Yes, it's what I'm currently doing myself, my pc and ps3 hooked up into one monitor. pc using displayport and ps3 via hdmi. just flip the channel/output whenever using the monitor's osd keys
