New to custom PC building

Hi Guys,

I am currently using a mid 2011 21"iMac but as it has been slowing down and I can now no longer install the latest version of Photoshop I have decided to get a new machine. Although I love my iMac, I cannot justify spending the kind of money they are looking for and they all seem to come with low capacity SSD drives, so I have decided to go for a windows machine.

I am not a gamer and I use my computer for photo editing with Lightroom, Photoshop and some other photo editing software. Apart from that its used for Music, general browsing, youtube etc.

I went and put together a machine which comes in around my budget, minus the monitor but realistically I know nothing about Motherboards, Graphic cards etc.

It was suggested to me that I start with a Ryzen 5 processor and get 32gigs of RAM for photoshop and work from there.

So I added
Motherboard - ASUS Prime A320M-K Micro-ATX, AM4, USB 3.0, 6GB/s
1st Storage Drive - 512GB PCS 2.5" SSD SATA-6GB (520MB/R 450MB/W)
2nd Storage Drive - 1 TB Seagate Barracuda SATA-III 3.5 HDD, 6GB/s 7200RPM 64MB Cache
Graphics card - 1GB NVIDIA GEFORCE 710 DVI HDMI VGA
Power Supply - PCS 250W 80+ Bronze Power Supply
Processor Cooling - PCS Frostflow 80 series High Performance CPU Cooler
Soundcard - Creative Soundblaster Audigy FX OEM

And I have a case picked too.

Any advice which can be given to me I would most appreciate. Bear in mind that I have yet to pick out a monitor and as I will be using it for editing RAW photos I need a decent oneso any money I can save on the PC could go towards the monitor.

As this is a pc specialist forum we can't comment on competitors or self build specs, however if you were to put a spec together in the configurator on the main site, I'm sure someone will be happy to advise you, if you do, then post the spec with configuration link & what your max budget is

Hi Guys,

I am looking at getting a custom PC built as up til now I have been using an iMac mid 2011 but its starting to get very slow and I can no longer update the OS nor move to the latest version of Photoshop.

I do not use my computer for gaming. I use it for photo editing with Photoshop and Lightroom and some other photo editing software. Apart from that I have used it to log in remotely to work where I am a QA and then the usual stuff of browsing, music, YouTube etc.

I have attached below a list of components not including the monitor. I know nothing about Motherboards or graphic cards. It was suggested to me to start with a Ryzen 5 3600 and 32gigs of RAM for photoshop and go from there.

I would appreciate any advice I could get on whether the items I have listed below are either Overkill or not enough for what I will use it for.

I still have to get a decent monitor so any money I can save here can go towards a decent monitor.

When you say decent monitor, what is the model number or if you can't get this size and refresh rate?
It is relevant to the build you use as they need to pair up
Also what is your maximum budget?
This is so the tech guys can give appropriate suggestions
