My post with the build in it just isn't showing up for some reason !!

When you are new to the forums your posts will often get auto-moderated and won't be visible til a moderator approves them - so you just have to be patient, I approved your original spec probably just before or as you were writing your last comment :), so it is visible now.

Well, I'm not sure if 960 is going to take you very far in gaming? I would recommend a 970, when it stops being efficient, you can than throw in a 2nd one in SLI... :)
Cant you get like a 120 SSD? just for your system?? It makes system to load faster :)

I would start moving towards 16gb ram if you can afford it. A few games starting to come out and releasing specs for their release are starting to require 8gb as a recommended.
It is always best to obviously have more than a game recommends so your system still has some grunt left after the game.

how important is the ram ? sorry for my ignorance but I really don't know much about computer parts !!

Also thanks for your help !

People fear the so called privacy issues. Personally it is perfectly fine for me and many others and if the machine is for gaming Windows 10 is the choice due to DX12.

Windows 10 is fine. I had huge difficulties with an upgrade but my latest PC that came with win 10 works fine. There are some laptop driver issues but as far as desktops go all seems pretty ok. Upcoming games are likely to support win10 over the others more and directx 12 makes the best of modern GPU's.

I have reconfigured to this. its a little more pricey but I thought hey why not !

Would this be better or unnecessary ?

Thanks

Switch out the cooler for the cheaper titan or PCS one. Watercooling is not necessary for your set up. Also, I would plump for the CS series PSU as it is modular and quieter.

For those kind of specs you will surely need some bucks to make it possible. May be try to figure out your budget first then came up with those things.

Hi! I looked over the spec and you should really listen to keynes, he knows what he's doing and you won't really get a better bang for your buck, the spec he chose is great, pretty much everything is in the sweet spot for that price and well balanced. the only thing i would've personally changed (considering i'd have a budget) would be a smaller ssd as i don't play a wide variety of games and 120-128 gigs would be sufficient for me, although for 90% of the worlds population 250 gigs would probably be a better choice.
Sorry to say that, but 16 gigs of ram for gaming is bull**** in that price range. it is true that games are starting to need huge amounts of ram. but once you wanny play a game that would need more than 8 gigs, you'd also need to upgrade the graphics card/cpu and all that jazz. also ram is one of the easiest parts to upgrade later on. might as well save a few bucks now.
