Difficult to say without knowing your intended usage…but in my opinion you‘re spending a lot on an end-of-line platform (i.e. no CPU upgrade path), and seem to have specced the most expensive motherboard and case.

Hi Tony

It’s mainly for gaming and the odd bit of every day use, I just fell in love with the case after watching a build in it 😃

In that case, I’d probably swap over to the latest & greatest gaming CPU…the AMD 7800x3D.

There’s an equivalent OTT motherboard for that platform too…but as it’s a brand new platform you’ll also have the option of upgrading to the next 1 or 2 CPU generations.

What GPU are you putting in it?

If it’s a 4070 or below, then a RM1000w is plenty…4080 and higher you may want to spend a few £££ on the slightly higher tier HX1200w.

Also, as per your config, you can save £200 by using the very capable Strix motherboard instead of the Crosshair…but I don’t know what your budget allows.

I would strongly advise the dual M2 drives as suggested. It makes a world of difference having just the OS on a primary drives and then the games and fast storage on a secondary.

2 lanes are better than one and if there are any issues with the install, you can wipe and install windows without having to re-install all your games etc.

Hi guys, finally got my hands on the system today!

I can’t seem to get the lights on the front of the case to light up, I’m not sure what to try.

The fans and lights inside the case seem to work but not the lights on the front of the Haf 700 evo!

Any ideas what I’m doing wrong?

Do the Coolermaster fans require specific software, such as MasterPlus.

But there are also other software packages that can run RGB stuff from multiple vendors directly. Have no experience of it as mine is all Corsair and runs Corsair’s iCUE software…I’m sure one of the experts in this field will supply the name & links shortly.

Thanks guys, the iris is working fine it’s the lights on the front panel I can’t get to light up.

I have MasterPlus+ installed and also ICue for the Ram and Cooler but can’t see anything on the software to control the front lights

It's possible they've became disconnected during transit. I would take the panel off and have a look for how they are connected and check the connection :)

Thanks Scott, had a quick peak but I’m no expert and not sure where to look.

Will just give PCS a ring tomorrow for some advice 👍
