I have my new PC running but cant get any output from the DVI connector.
Detecting devices only finds one monitor on the VGA connector.
Any ideas?

Full setup ...

Monitor 1 - HP 19" widescreen 1440x900 with VGA input
Monitor 2 - CTX (old) 17" 1280x1024 with integral cable with VGA connector

Both monitors work when connected to the VGA outpput.
monitor 1 connected to the DVI via an adaptor .... no output, no devide detected
monitor 1 connected with a DVI to VGA cable .... same result
monitor 2 connected with the adaptor .... still nothing

I dont have any HDMI device to test the HDMI output.

I have now managed to test with a pure DVI monitor at work (i.e. not VGA converted to DVI)
The output is working.

So the problem is in the conversion from DVI to VGA - or both of my monitors at home.
The cables converters I am using do work on my old PC so I wonder if there is a problem with any single connector on the DVI port.

Found some more info about DVI ...

DVI-I .... both analogue and digital signals (this is what I need)
DVI-D .... only digital signal
DVI-A .... analogue signal (not very common)

The Radeon HD 6570 is DVI-I so it should work.

Have you tried different resolutions,
failing that I would try another adaptor &/or cable,
sometimes newer GPUs are a bit choosy, why, I dont know.
