8th working day, and my order has dropped to 170th in the queue. Nooooooooooooooo

Anyone else had the heartache of dropping down this far in the queue? I could really use the moral support :p

Cheers, Nick

I never asked where I was in the queue. I just sat in a dark room for a week and a half...seemed to make it go faster :)

I was thinking about going away for a few days next week, but knowing my luck it'd whizz through and then there'd be no-one to wait in for it :s

Guess I'll just have to settle for my PS3 for now. Looking forward to seeing graphics that are better than a Spirograph lol

Still pre-production. I was given a 7-9 working day estimate when I ordered but then I was told yesterday that It'd would be at least another 10 working days, but I've since been told that it'll be considerably less than that.

Today on my 13th working day I got an email saying
Your order has now been built and is awaiting testing and configuration.
Although the status on the website changed from "Pre-Production" to "In Building". Confused as to what's happening but happy it's progressing. The do seem to be busy as the percentage dispatched table (which is automatically calculated) dropped in numbers over the past few days. Good luck :)

When I was in contact with PCS earlier they informed me that because they are busy they are aiming for 1-3 days maximum to go through the building & testing process. Hopefully yours will be done by tomorrow/Monday.

Cheers, Nick :)

Building, testing and quality assurance in 3 days max? Let's hope they don't cut corners

Wow! How did you know your position in the queue? I presume you rang to ask or is there another way?

Mine took 19 working days from ordering to dispatch, I was told they are just busy.

You guys must have been unlucky; my last two PCS builds took 8 days from the point of ordering to delivery.

If you've placed a non fast-track order and other people keep putting through fast-track orders (which presumably go above you in the queue)...then theoretically your PC might never be made...:tt2:

There are, I believe, 2 (or more) production lines so that the orders for fast track do not affect other orders.

Haha, I actually thought that yesterday slim. I'm pretty patient so I'll give them a call early next week if it hasn't shifted from preproduction.

Regarding the 1-3 days for the whole building phase, it's a bit of a double edged sword. I do want it sooner but I also want it to go through building, testing, QC etc which would take 3 days minimum. This is something other people on the forum have picked up on.

Ariadne2 - When I spoke to the Advisor on live chat he said they're not meant to give queue numbers out but he gave me mine and even told me how many they're getting through a day, which is currently 70.

The only thing that really bothers me is the fact that fast track customers are not dealt entirely by a designated team. This would satiate those who do not pay the extra for fast track when they get bumped down the queue.

Cheers, Nick

Nope. PCS have confirmed that if they get a lot of fast tracked orders then normal ones can be pushed back. That said, due to the 30 day guarantee, a normal build will eventually come ahead of all fast trackers :)

Yeah, I got told that fast tracks are initially dealt with by another department but when they get into the build stage they join, and go to the top, of the build queue.

My Laptop finished the build on Tuesday and got tested and sent out Thursday morning so I'm a tad worried as thats only two days to test/build the laptop...Like Nhornby said i'd rather it gone through the stages more slowly and tested more thoroughly than have the Laptop sooner!

That sound alright to be honest Lovejoy as they would've spent Tuesday/Wednesday Doing testing and QC. Some users have mentioned they have had it all done in one day, and QC'd by the same person, which is usually frowned upon(I've worked for three small business, and QC/Auditing was never allowed to be done by the same person who had built/tested it).....but as long as it arrives and works perfectly fine, that's the most important thing. Enjoy your laptop btw :)

My build entered Testing on Friday and today (Monday morning) it's awaiting dispatch. It was also Tested and QC'ed by the same person.
This is worrying :(
