I'm ordering my first build with pcs and does anyone know what will happen if I don't select an operating system? I have my own windows code I can use does pcs pre load a licence free version of windows? Also for anyone who have ordered the 3070 what card version did you get, thanks in advance!

If you order without an OS, there will be a test/unregistered version of Win10 on there but it may be missing various drivers/Windows components etc, so its best to do a clean install if you have your own key.
There are instructions how to create a USB media drive for installation here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10 - that's what I've done the last few times - its fairly simple now-a-days :)

Rakk beat me to the Windows question, and with a better answer too!

For the 3070, PCS normally use Palit or Zotac cards, but due to the shortage of cards, they have had some Gigabyte cards recently too- Although, I haven't seen any of them in a while. The only way to guarentee a card is buying the Asus Strix versions, although they carry a premium over the standard ones for the name and not much else. The performance will be broadly the same with slight differences to the looks and the cooling.

Ah sick thanks for the good reply haha, so I should put the installation media onto a big enough memory stick, then format the pc and use the memory stick to load windows onto it?

You'll need at least an 8GB stick and it will wipe everything else on said stick, so make sure if its not a new stick that you move everything you want to keep off it first :).
As part of the installation/setup you can format the drive that you want the OS on, so you don't even need to format before starting the whole setup

Okay I get you, can I just ask why it would be better to go for a clean install of windows, instead of the version that PCS ships my pc with then run updates? Also I currently have an order that has a 3080 in it however im really close to changing it to a 3070, anyone know the wait time on that at all? These are my specs do you think they are any good? Got a bigger psu for future upgrades and will install an extra fan in the back of the PC myself, think this will manage to handle games that come out in a few years to come at 1440p over 60fps? I know its hard to say lmao, thanks.

The specs you've shown look good but would you be able to post the full specs to see if there's anything else we might recommend changing? The how to guide is here: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/foru...ification-to-the-forum-check-this-spec.73718/. (Don't forget to include the link at the bottom!) We'll also need to know your budget, use case and monitor info (either make and model or resolution AND refresh rate pls).

Depending on your uses 1TB isn't actually all that much. If it's for gaming, I'd recommend a lot more, (500GB SSD for OS, 1TB SSD for games and programs and 2TB HDD for general files is the usual suggestion), unless you have your own storage to add. With games like COD being 180-190GB you'll fill up that 1TB FAST.

We'd need to know your uses, monitor and budget but it does look like a decent build generally. I'm not sure about the TD500, but I know for a lot of cases, the tall RGB RAM means the AIO's have to be front mounted, which isn't the end of the world but I'd recommend having it top mounted for more efficent airflow- might be worth some research into if it'll fit or not. As has been noted, I'd change the Intel M.2 to just about anything else, the PCS ones are actually great for the price, then the two Samsung ones are good choices too. What PSU were you thinking of? The RMx is the best choice and the RM is a good choice, I feel the TXm is expensive for what it is.

I already bought my monitor, its 1440p 144hz. Yeah ill grab another ssd and swap the one I already got on the spec to the samsung evo. I was going to get the 750w but decided to go for 850w to give me more room to upgrade in future so its one less then ill need to worry about. I have looked into the sizing on the td500 and have seen the same aio fit with the corsair ram while top mounted. The rmx is currently greyed out on the options. Was just wondering if anyone was able to say if this spec, with a 3070 instead would last a few years without needing a substantial upgrade. Ill be playing 1440p and will only really need to utilize the 144hz in games such as cs go and stuff which ill be turning the settings down anyway so that shouldn't be a problem. Its more about AAA games that are going to come out was wondering if it was a decent build to last for those sort of games, thanks for the replies too guys you have been a lot of help.

To my knowledge the RM is available in 850W and the RMx is available in the 850W and the RMx 750 is currently out of stock. Have you currently got the RM850? That's what I deciphered from your message. Good to hear about the TD500, definitely useful knowledge! The 3070 will very comfortably run a 1440p 144hz monitor. We normally recommend a 3070 to someone with an ultrawide or someone looking to max out a standard ratio 1440p screen, so I have no doubt you'll keep above a 1440p 60FPS experience for many years to come!
