splinter cell games are on offer, actually all tom clancy games are on steam YAY :'( too bad they don't have the collectors pack on there any more, but 66% off i aint complaining :p

Am I correct in thinking that some games on Steam are "add-ons" to main titles, and that I need to buy the main game first? I did try to buy a game and it wouldn't let me, I think it was because it was the "add-on" game.

Are the Splinter Cell games any good? If so, which is the best (opinions may vary :))?

Do I need to buy the "main" Splinter Cell game (if so, what's it called?) before I can buy the other games?

hey pokerface, i think you were tryna buy the dlc to splinter cell conviction...

imo you should get them in this order

1) Splinter cell conviction - easily the best one
2) Splinter cell Chaos Theory - the best of the rest
3) Splinter cell Double Agent - it still looks pretty i guess :S

By "dlc" you mean downloadable content, correct?

Is dlc an "add-on" that can only be bought once you've bought the main game? What do these "add-ons" do, my guess is different missions etc...is that right?

i recommend playing chaos theory first, it's a different kettle of fish and a lot more stealth driven... and well lets face it you probably won't want to, if you play splinter cell conviction first (Which plays more like a jason bourne movie)

Its the one thing with these kind of games. Yes I like the SP parts (once), but the longevity is the MP...and is there really enough out there now to make it worth while? (LIke when I installed BF2 a while back...yeh...really noone plays it anymore (relatively of course)).

Theres plenty of people still play BF2, tons of well populated servers, I know you said relatively, but definatly enough people play it to enjoy it still :D
