You didn’t miss it. I had a look when Steam first put the Star Wars stuff on sale and the two Cal Kestis games weren’t discounted. Someone at Valve obviously hadn’t had their second cup of coffee and made a boo-boo.

Balatro is pretty close to cocaine fair warning
It’s one of those rare games that when you’re not playing it, you’re still thinking about it. And then it’ll start invading your dreams at night.
However, you’re much less likely to start stealing from your (soon to be ex) friends and eventually lose your job and your house with that game than the old Bolivian marching powder. Nobody sells little five pound starter bags of Balatro on the estate as far as I know.

I played the demo during a Steam Next Fest which is when I recommended it - functionally it was the same thing as a starter bag. They gave it away for free though!
