PC lagging (Acting slow programs crashing) - Upset

Hello everyone,
had my pc less than 48 hours used it probably altogether less than 6 and it's already lagging. What I mean by that is acting slow, internet dropping out (using homeplugs), internet crashed, skype crashed. It was doing that loading when the cursor turns into a circle and I couldn't use anything! At one point skype and chrome stopped working and I clicked on task manager and it didn't even come up!
Sometimes get black squares underneath where a window of the size size was was when you move it a bit (and it starts to do that circle cursor thing!)

I'm amazed by old laptop can be functioning better than the PC.
Honestly, it is worse than the laptop I'm typing from and I actually feel more relief typing on this despite the fact I was annoyed with this laptop which drove me to research endlessly for 10 months (Initially I thought it was 8 but I just worked out it was 10!). I still believe I chose the right company but I am incredibly FRUSTRATED right now. The last thing I want to do is send this PC back. I hope it doesn't result in that.

Bullguard is also saying my trial period expired in July 2003. Maybe I used it almost 10 years ago with that email address, I cannot remember but I think that buying a new PC would've allowed otherwise!

Please help!

When you got it and installed windows on it, did you get any errors at all.

Is it only your internet programs giving you issues or is the whole computer in general acting up.

Did you try using it with that anti-virus removed. I would start there. Remove any anti-virus you have and just see if that helps with your net. If it does can download AVG or Avast free, both really good.

Is windows and drivers all fully updated?

Try what Buzz suggested, failing that I would try a clean install, instructions are given in the welcome booklet. After you reinstall drivers you will need to download & install an antivirus program as the bullguard trial probably wont be installed, either one of those suggested by Buzz or microsoft security essentials which is what I use. Then run windows update.

Yeh id tend to agree with that. If cleaning out comp of anti-virus does not help, I would simply do a fresh install. It would prob end up saving you time in the long run.
