PCS Frostflow 200

I have this cooler and I’m happy with it currently although worried due to it not being the highest quality the fans might die quicker than others, to replace a air cpu cooler from PCS is it as simple as removing the current one and installing a new one? The screws, mounting bracket etc are all set up just to swap the cooler out to any air cooler? Sorry for asking silly question but is the one thing worrying me about my build

It's a solid cooler, and the 9800X3D is not the most demanding chip. I doubt you'll find it any restriction. What you might find is that it's not the quietest or that it fails sooner than other coolers. This is because the fan isn't the best. However, if that does happen, you can just replace the fan with a new/better one. That's a way better option than replacing the whole cooler.

So I can just buy any 120 mm fans and use them on this cooler? If I were to replace the cooler is it just literally taking the pcs one off and putting the new one on? The screws, stands, bracket etc are fine for any other air cooler to swap with?

You should be able to use most 120mm fans, I'd guess. I've never seen the cooler in person so you should check the fan clips to make sure they'll clip onto your fan.

I wouldn't recommend changing the cooler itself. But if you wanted to, you'd probably have to change the mounting hardware. It's unlikely to be compatible.

Changing the mounting hardware? Would that be provided with the cooler or with the extras that came with pc? I assumed the am5 mounting bracket would be universal and would just be a simple swap

The mounting bracket is particular to the cooler.

If you were to change cooler, you'd have to clean the CPU of thermal paste and reapply another layer before fitting the new mounting bracket and cooler.
