Photo editing on a budget

Would appreciate comments on the following build, will be mainly used for photo editing(home use,not office) general Browing ,uploading and downloading photo's, am on a bit of a budget (£500) this one comes in at just under £500 , will be used with a hewlet Packard 1080 60htz monitor, cheers

This is, shall we say, a very tough price to buy a computer for. You will not get a strong PC for this price. That said, you could definitely do better than this. Here's what I'd suggest if you can go just over £500:

Thanks sck451 for the feedback ,it's appreciated, just going over £500 is fine, will give your spec a proper look, might be time to change the monitor as well as it's only got a dvi connection.

You can adapt DP or HDMI to DVI with a cable. It's not ideal, but for your use case I wouldn't spend more on upgrading the display at this point. I'd prefer to spend the cost (probably £150 or more) on the PC instead: that should give you a much stronger foundation and therefore a longer lifespan for the PC. The monitor is very easy to upgrade later – far easier than any internal upgrade!

Do you have an old PC from which you can transfer the Windows licence? That should be a significant saving for you at this price.

I do , but not sure how to transfer it over, it was done through an upgrade from Windows 7 so not sure where on the computer the licence is held.

If you do a quick search on the forum, there's a sticky post that explains how to transfer it, it's quite easy if you've got a Microsoft account

Had a proper look at your spec, and decided to go with your spec and it's now been ordered l also upgraded the case, so many thanks for your advice.
