A very well featured quote. :)

There aren't any mistakes that I can see, providing you're going to actually need all of the additional components (Firewire, sound card, TV card etc.)

Is there any particular reason for choosing Windows 7 Professional? Home Premium is still very well featured and a fair bit cheaper.

All i;d say here is, dont neglect the important stuff liek cache size on a hard disk, especially if youre using an HDD and not a solid state drive. The greater the cache, the less time youre gonna be waiting for windows to load, and programs to start. Considering its hardly anymroe for a 1TB 64mb cached drive or even 500gb for that matter, its well worth it!

In that case these are very sensible choices. :)

Oh no, Windows 7 Home Premium will also support DVD playback from the get go. The two versions of Windows 7 you have to look out for are the Starter and Basic editions. These versions are often found in other parts of the world or installed on budget PCs/netbooks. PCSpecialist don't offer these cut down editions of the OS and provide you with Home Premium as a minimum, which is more than capable of performing most tasks.

For a detailed breakdown of the different versions of Windows 7, visit this web page of the official Microsoft site:

yes kind of, but you could also just go for 640GB WD64000AARS with 64mb cache if you dont want a whole 1TB, either way, the cache is the important thing. Obviously you could go for a velociraptor as RPM is more important than cache, but, they are more expensive.
