RAM question

Hi, I am having a pc built by PCS at the minute, and for the RAM option I chose 8GB Kingston DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz (1 x 8GB). I decided to buy another 8GB stick of RAM whilst waiting for my pc to be built, now my question is will the RAM I bought work with the RAM I have ordered off PCS? I looked for kingston ddr3 1600mhz RAM, but the stick I have says UDIMM on the packet.

Is the RAM off PCS DIMM or UDIMM? I remember reading somewhere that the two are not compatable.

Edit: I forgot to put that the purchased RAM is Kingston Hyper-X, but it says ddr3 and 1600mhz

Hi! I don't know how your pc is doing, but if it wasn't sent yet i would suggest you contact PCS and ask if you can pay a few bucks more for them to install 16 gigs of ram instead of 8, probably the least complicated option for you...

take it easy, cheers!

It's not good to have un-matched (matched = identical RAM), even if it will all fit into your PC.
You can alter your order at any point before it is being built, and even it is being built if it has not yet been packaged for delivery yet you can give PCS a call and they may be able to make additions. It's worth a try at least.
