Ram worries?

Hi, i want a really decent gaming laptop good enough to play fairly recent PC games.

Im looking at the Vortex III Elite with i3 intel core 2.40GHZ 3MB, 8GB samsung ram, x2 1TB hard drives.

My only worry is that the i3 wont be powerful enough for my needs? is it worth spending the extra for the i7 2.40GHZ 6MB.

I have a budget of £1500 which can be streched by about £100.

Thoughts on this would be greatful.

The i3 is only a dual core. For your laptop to be future proof for a while, it would be worth upgrading to the i7 @ 2.4GHz as this is a Quad Core Processor. Also with the i7, you are able to use Intel's Turbo Boost software which will allow your processor to have a clock speed of 3.4GHz.
