Recoil II RTX2070 Backlight Issues

Morning everyone, last night I was playing on Apex Legends and in the middle of the game the screen went very dim, I figured I had just pressed something by accident but it turns out that the backlight has gone (I assume, anyway).

I have a video included but for anyone who can't watch, basically if the brightness % goes over say 30%, it will go dim again and meanwhile you can also hear a whining coming from the laptop, from what I have read it sounds like a faulty backlight inverter.

Thankfully I am still under warranty, but is there any easy cure for this? Is it just simply a fact of I'm going to have to send it back? I've been gaming for 19 years now, this is my first high spec laptop, regardless though I have never had anything like this happen on any system.

Might be best to turn audio off, kids programs in the background lol.

Best get it retuned for an RMA. If the inverter is going then a new screen will be needed.

Thank you for the quick reply!
Do you know what kind of turnaround these things usually have? And will that mean I will get my system back or a different one? Never actually RMAd something before, cause as far as I'm aware the Recoil 2 RTX has been superseded by the Recoil 3.

Edit: It being the inverter is just a guess, but the whining as you turn the brightness up is what makes me believe it is.

They usually stock replacement components on older chassis for a good while so they’d just swap out the screen.

Turnaround depends on how busy they are but this would be fairly straightforward to replicate to tell them the root cause - that’s the bit that takes the time.

Well like I said it happened last night, this morning I turned it on and I was over the moon as I thought it'd fixed itself.... It worked fine for a whole 2 minutes, I loaded up Apex Legends and before I could even get into a game it went dim again and started flickering.

Ive had it for about 6 months, it hasn't missed a beat, mainly playing games like CS:GO, Dota 2, Diablo 3, Path of Exile, Overwatch and Apex Legends most recently; no AAA games, although the chassis does get warm, GPU and CPU temps stay around and under 70*c.

A few days ago, the same exact problem happened with my 6 months old recoil III RTX 2070 MaxQ while I was playing metal gear solid 5. I also thought it fixed itself but it was just a few minutes and now whenever I turn up brightness it flickers and redims itself.

The problem is that I live overseas. I bought this laptop online and had it shipped to my friend who was in UK at the time and I sending it back would just be too expensive.
I'm not sure what to do, this purchase is a pretty expensive investment that I used mainly for work. I just can't imagine that investment would be a waste.

When you say the exact same problem, do you hear the whining and everything exactly as described?

And when you say overseas, are you in Europe?

No, not europe, I'm in Egypt.

I can hear little whining but I didn't really notice until I read that post. The whining is barely audible only when I get very near to the screen.
Here's the description of the problem to avoid any misunderstanding.
When I raise brightness any level beyond 10 it flickers badly. The more I raise the brightness it starts to dim instead of getting bright.
Sometimes it flickers badly even at 10 or lower.
This is a video I have taken yesterday, but now the flickering is way worse than when I took that video.
Also in that video I can go a little beyond 10, but now it's nearly impossible to go beyond 10 without the display getting terrible.

It's weird that the problem started while gaming just like ITSJAYKE and we both have RTX 2070. Perhaps it's just a coincidence.
