Replacement CPU cooler, suggestions of a decent, quiet one?

no, one should be 4 pin and one three pin.. thats fine dude :)

one of the fans has the speed regulated the other just runs at the same speed... :)

So got the fans. Had a bit of a nightmare and couldn't get them on so made the mistake of taking the heatsink off. Obviously the thermal paste is gonna need to be changed, any suggestions how to remove the old paste? Thanks

I know this isn't exactly relevant to this thread but I got a new led fan to replace the one already on my case. I made the mistake of assuming that it would be an easy swap. The old fan had a 2 pin male connector marked led. The new one has a 2 pin female connector and a loop that connects into it.
I followed the old lead back to the button that controlls the light but it wasn't very easy to work out what was going on.
I assume that the led will work ATM but I won't be able to turn it off? I do like the option of turning it off sometimes.
Help would be appreciated. Thanks

you definitely sure it is the cpu fan and not the gpu fan? my cpu is overclocked and rarely make much noise. it is the gpu that gets louder under load.

Absolutely positive. Before I took the heat sink off I tried it with the old fans disconnected and the new ones connected. It's a huge amount quieter..

For the front fan on your cpu cooler get one of these - clicky

Its a filter but with a grill too. Pretty good filters I've got three.

As for the led cable, thats for cases that had LED on off switches. have you got a led on off switch with your case?

it might explain in the case manual? Unless anyone else has the Cm600 II and knows how the led off n switch connects?

i know my old CM sniper case had an LED on/off switch and connected to bitfenix fans fine.

Aaah instructions.. I didn't think of that..

edit just looked at them and they aren't what I would called detailed... Vague pictures with single sentence in 18 different languages..

All fixed! It's soo much quieter now!

This is the new fan on the front. IMG_2520.jpg Still couldn't work out how to connect the led on/off switch but nevermind...

1 more thing!

I decided to try a stress test to make sure I had refitted the heatsink properly. I was using Asus Suite to monitor the temps, after 30mins it was saying the CPU was at 43C. I then checked the temps on HW monitor which is saying that they are at 64C. Any ideas why they are different?
