Well hello everyone, as promised here you can find my review thread about my new pc. It has arrived yesterday and I must confess I spent too much time gaming and installing everything I needed while contemplating this beauty.
I wanted to give you some context because I didn't just buy a new pc, but I went in "extreme makeover" mode, changing everything: from the desk to the monitor going through the mouse/keyboard. A completely new experience.
The old PC
This is where I started. Very little desk, no space to put the pc on top of it, a good 144hz 1080p monitor, budget speakers, Razer Viper mini, Arctis Pro Wireless headset, Corsair K70 RGB Rapidfire keyboard, and obviously my old pc - i7 8700k | 16GB RAM | GTX 1080ti | 250GB SSD + 2TB HDD. A respectful rig capable of running games at high/ultra at 60+ fps and 100+fps for Competitive shooters.
But then I decided to go for something new, therefore I went for another extreme.
The new PC
Thanks to research here and there and the so-called "pull the trigger - I don't want to wait for a 3080 although it's a better deal than a 3090 - but you know what? Who cares?", here's what I went for:
In the meantime, other parts arrived, such as a new desk, a new monitor, a new set of speakers + subwoofer, new mouse and keyboard. But: we're talking about my PC here so, there you have it!
Yep, new desk indeed!
I thought that Ezio would totally fit the case, you know.
The Extreme Makeover final result
On top of that, as mentioned, I managed to get some more part for the makeover, specifically:
- Alienware AW2721D 1440p 240Hz Nano-IPS HDR600 Gaming monitor with G-Sync Ultimate (having that rig and using a 1080p monitor wouldn't have had too much sense. I could have gone for 4K but I wanted to have a taste of a 240Hz and oh boy, that monitor is beautiful)
- Logitech G560 RGB Speakers with Subwoofer (really nice to see, a huge improvement compared to the old budget Logitech speakers I had. So much RGB and the bass kills.
- SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL keyboard (with HK Gaming 108 Double Shot PBT Pudding Keycaps) - I really appreciate a TKL and with these keycaps, comfort and RGB are simply top-notch
- SteelSeries QCK Prism RGB Cloth Mouse Pad - Self-explanatory right?
- Razer Viper Ultimate with RGB Stand - Initially I went for the Logitech G Pro X Superlight but I'm more of a Claw/Fingertip Grip hybrid kind of a person, the Viper is my perfect mouse and.. wireless!
- Dripex 44.5'' Gaming Desk - Reasonably cheap, sturdy, easy to set up! Love it!
- Some LEDs strips to put under the desk because there is not enough RGB. Never.
- Additional Corsair LL120 Fan - As we know, PCS doesn't sell the single fan bundle, so I had to install it by myself.
- Bonus: Star Wars The Mandalorian large mouse pad (birthday gift since my colleagues know me extremely well)
There you go!
I might update this thread with some more pictures and perhaps some benchmarks here and there, yay! But yeah, there you go, I just wanted to thank PCSpecialist staff, and in particular, those who worked on this order:
Additionally, Mario has been extremely helpful. Big props to him from the Customer Support, excellent.
I feel PCSpecialist just gives customers the care they deserve and the fact we can see the names of those who worked on our equipment is amazing. It's like if you're buying a luxury car: you know who will work on it!
Last but not least: thanks to @AgentCooper
