Ryzen 9000 officially announced for July 31st Release

So the official announcement is in.

Obviously, these are only AMD's interpretation of performance so don't take this seriously, as with any manufacturers claims, wait for 3rd party reviews.

Official release date is July 31st. No pricing information yet.

Single core is around a 16% uplift in IPC which is quite significant, but the multicore performance does look promising.

No X3D announcements yet, they're often around 6 months later.

To be followed with new motherboard chipsets, the X870 and X870e but not slated until around a September release, but they have PCIe Gen 5 across the board, and mandate USB 4

I'm concerned about pricing for the CPU's, it's weird they haven't announced prices this late on, given the specs of X870, also expect boards to be pricey!

These put AMD clearly in the lead by some margin until 15th gen are released, we saw a price increase from Zen 3 to Zen 4, I think they’ll raise prices again off the back of undisputed performance crown.

But we may be pleasantly surprised.

Leaked benchmarks of the engineering samples show impressive gains in single and multi-core, with efficiency being a real boost.

9950X @ 120w 5% > 7950X @ 170w for example.

They've unlocked the power too, which offers some good gains (but they're diminishing with massive increase obviously).

Single core the 9900X beat out the 14900KS, so be interesting to see what the non-engineering samples are like.

There was also a rumour that X3D will be seen as early as September, interesting if that pans out.

I think the stock boost is 5.8Ghz. The new curve optimiser will let you do more with that frequency though so I think it's quite exciting.

Long story short, I think this new chip is an amateur overclockers dream.

On the upcoming X870e boards as well, they look completely over engineered judging by some of the samples we saw at Computex

25 x 110A power stages on the upcoming Taichi X870e board looks very intriguing!

Yeah, mandatory on the X870s. That's a good thing though. I know it's expensive but it's a good feature and it will help consumers from second guessing.

Yeah, I would love all USB 4. They’re going to have to push out some new cases though with front USB support and I wonder if these boards have more dedicated front usb headers as we’re already seeing some cases now having a good 6 or so ports on the front

Zen4 was £300 for the x600 IIRC. Price has gone up a bit but with everything in mind I think it's probably there or there about. It's not exorbitant even though they could name their price, pretty much, with the state Intel is in.
