Sanity check on this build?

Mind you that my Motherboard isn't that, it went out of stock and you can find it below

I want a new PC, maybe I don't need it, but I want advice on this build, not about "you could upgrade X on your current PC". My old PC will go to my girlfriend.

To be used with my current monitors that are: https://www.electriq.co.uk/p/eiq-34suwd144fshq/electriq-eiq34suwd144fshq - Electriq 34" ultra wide WQHD 165Hz and Acer ED242QR 23.6" 144Hz Full HD Curved Monitor because I have this PC right now:

And I struggled with it. Because my motherboard was already old, might as well change everything with the new Nvidia cards too.

Will my monitors still be ok and can you see anything alarming in the PC Specialist build?

PC USAGE: Heavy gaming mostly multi-player.
For example Warhammer Space Marine 2 - tried to play it with a friend that has a Nvidia RTX3090 and he can play it on high res; meanwhile I am on medium and get stuck mid air. And he'd have to wait for me as my character would get stuck.

If I were in your shoes, I would have a look at upgrading your current build rather than buying new as it’s only a few years old. As your current PC isn’t a PCS system, you would need to head to an open forum such as Toms Hardware if you wanted to go down that route.

If you want to buy new (and it’s your money, your choice), please give this a read, and provide the information requested so that we can make informed suggestions for you: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/foru...posting-collaboration-of-helpful-hints.99885/

Absolutely pointless replacing that PC, totally defeats the object of a custom pc and won’t gain you any extra performance anyway

Hi, firstly my girlfriend also needs a PC so my old build which wasn't a custom, was a Pre-build from Ebuyer in 2020 will go to her. I wanted to buy the RTX 5080 by itself and keep my old PC but that would have required me to also upgrade motherboard; Power Supply, Graphics card and Rams so apart from the CPU and case, everything should have been replaced.

Why do you say it's pointless to replace it? I don't really understand why I won't be getting extra performance with a better CPU and better GPU? My RTX 3070 barely copes in most games...

Yes, so you upgrade the GPU, rather the point of a custom pc.

its still a custom pc, just a pre configured one.

Just pasting this: "Hi, firstly my girlfriend also needs a PC so my old build which wasn't a custom, was a Pre-build from Ebuyer in 2020 will go to her. But you still don't answer why you think my new build won't offer extra performance?

That’s a fair reason for a new system. What’s your max budget? With those monitors I would probably advocate waiting for the 5070ti releasing next week, but if we can keep the 5080 in budget without compromising on other areas that’s your choice to make. A few areas of the build could be optimised, but knowing budget at the outset will help guide this.

Because the CPU and platform aren't what's holding your old PC back, it's the GPU. GPU upgrades every few years are entirely normal and a required part of owning a custom gaming PC.

With a suitably paired GPU to the monitor, you'll be getting very much the same performance on Ultrawide on either system

Thanks. I would say around £2.8k - £3k max

Well I mentioned before that my motherboard was also quite old and replacing the GPU would have required a PSU and motherboard change.

Fair enough, motherboard is not related in the slightest to the GPU, don’t know where you’re getting this stuff.

What I’m concerned about is that you keep replacing systems half way through their lifetime rather than upgrading.

Its important to understand what a custom pc is to get best value and performance

Well I see them as connected because it's recommended to have DDR5 RAM for the 5080 and in general for the next time I want to upgrade GPU. Because my current motherboard is outdated, I'd need a new one and new rams and new PSU.
For the "you keep upgrading systems" man, this is the first time I am doing it and as I said rather than my GF also paying to buy a PC and me to upgrade, better to get a monster of a PC now so that in the next X years I don't have what to upgrade to it or if I have to, nothing gets bottlenecked.....

It’s not outdated in any way, it’s got plenty of life in it. Loads of gamers are on AM4 with 5000 series GPUs playing quite happily. RAM has very little impact on the GPU.

I think you’re getting confused with PCIe 5, but again, that’s of no benefit on 5000 series.

A motherboard will be absolutely fine for a good 10 years if not more.

None of the platform components should ever require updating (assuming a properly designed system) and will last 10 years very happily.
