Spec check

Buying a PC designed to last me 3-4 years before coming sub-standard ( by my standards that is, and atm Running a G6950 with 6GB ram and a 550 TI and more than happy with it atm)

Wanted something that would be quick in load and response times in all general use, so boot up, program opening, game loading etc.
I will be gaming, but I'm not an " ultra settings " on the latest game kinda guy,
I will be sticking to my GTX 550 for now as the most intense game I play is League of Legends, sometimes Planetside 2, but as I said, happy with lower graphics / resolution

I will be recording gameplay on LoL and anything else I may do, and I may run private servers for other games I play between me and 2-3 friends, nothing too heavy maybe some MC, or L4D2 etc etc.

I assume what I've chosen will be adequate for my needs?

I have a feeling my CPU is over the top as may be the ram and Mobo, but I was very interested in O.Cing the ram hence I chose that Mobo, and plaing with the Rog Ram disk the Mobo has with it, will 8gb be enough for me to utilize the ramdisk? without sacrificing too much ram, as i understand it uses system memory as actual disk space, but at ram speeds in terms of accessing it?

I will eventually buy a £200ish graphics card to upgrade from the 550 ti, any recommendations on that aswell?

I don't think you will get any noticeable any noticeable benefits from overclocking your CPU or ram. I would downgrade to an i5 and get a cheaper motherboard. Dropping the SSD (which is not essential and can be added later) will allow you to add the gpu now rather than later. I would suggest the r9-280x, might be a bit too much for your intended use. Another choice is the r9-270x

I've always liked having the option and not needing it, hence I got such high end CPU and Mobo, I didn't think OC'ing would be needed but again, I like having the option to be able to should my needs change, I didn't want to be stuck with a slightly cheaper rig that's good for what I need currently, then have my needs change in a years time and not have the power i want.

The SSD i will end up keeping as I really want the improved read and write times, and the GPU, i could add it to my the order now sure, I was going to be purchasing it from the sale of my current PC ( whenever that is! ) so i figured to leave it off the order, but thanks for the card suggestions, I've always been fond of Nvidia, but you recommend Radeon, any reason to this? or is it a pepsi or coke style debate?
forgive my ignorance

I figured having the I7 over the I5 will ensure my PC doesn't fall below an average standard too soon.

The cooling, case, and PSU weren't mentioned so I assume they're fine.

Really appreciate your input, Thanks.

Will the 650w PSU be enough considering I will be adding a 550 TI to the system?
I did a PSU check on " http://www.thermaltake.outervision.com/Power "
And put in the specs, and added my GraCard, and it said at 90% system load, a 604 W is recommended, is the 46W slack okay? or cutting it fine ?
