Steaming and Sad at Delivery

Been waiting patiently all day for my new Optimus IV.... got my delivery time of between 3 and 4pm. Went out of the house waiting for it to arrive, just checked online and it says.

"The parcel was refused by the recipient and returned to the sender"

What.... no van has been near. Rang the company up and they said the driver wasn't allowed down my road because of a serious accident and the police wouldn't let them enter. I live in a small cul de sac of a main road, the main road is flowing fast, my cul de sac is fine.

They said nothing I can do, it'll be returned to sender and I need to contact PCS to sort it out.

I'm ****ing furious, why oh why :( :( :(

My first experience of the "improved service" operated by the new company. Whaaaaaat!

My Gawd, I would be spitting blood if that was me. Make sure there has been no accident (could try asking old bill). If you find there hasn't been, phone DPD and tell them. Then ask them what they feel about a driver who lies and brings their company into disrepute.

I wonder what PCS will make of a courier that returns a parcel to them without it even being seen by the recipient yet giving '...refused by recipient...' as the reason. Doesn't bode well.

It must have to go back to the depot. Are you anywhere near?

From what I read if nobody is there to take delivery then it is returned to the depot rather than PCS. I don't have first hand experience in this though.

I wouldn't take the advice of the above though by calling the driver a liar, etc when phoning them. Just state the facts and let them deal with the rest of it. I can understand why you would be mad though. When mine is delivered I'll be having to pop home from work or telling my brother to stay in the house so if they didn't meet those times I would be pretty mad too :\

i;d first check if there was actually an accident, for obvious reasons,

Then call/email PCs and put a compliant in about DPD (if there wasn't an accident), as the driver normally just returns it to the depot, then you rearrange delivery or pick it up.

But I'm sure PCS will call up the clowns at DPD and tell them to redeliver it.

The issue here is it's not saying "failed to deliver" or such like. They are saying the recipient (me) has refused package and it is to be returned to sender. But they are also acknowledging that it never got to me because of a "fatal accident" at the end of my road. This is wrong, firstly because I can see the end of my road and the main road at the end. Secondly because I've called the police and their have been no major incidents in the whole of Cardiff all day (I passed this information on the DPD and made stated I wish to complain about this lie).

And thirdly, because it never got to me, and was rejected by a fictional policeman (can't believe I even have to write that sentence)... I haven't rejected it, so why sent it back. Mickey mouse. I know it's not PCS's fault really, because apparently they are all this bad. But it's hard for me not to be cross with them for trusting nearly a grands worth of stuff with a company that offer that service :(

Update, PCS have just told me they have been onto the company and I will be "upgraded" to pre 12pm delivery tomorrow. I'm struggling to work out how that constitutes an upgrade but never mind.

I think that means PCS are paying for the delivery upgrade.

I can take it being late, but it's the being lied too. The story about a fatal accident is quite some concoction and I just don't understand why they'd do that and what purpose it serves. Really... what is the point

I can understand that, but getting angry about it doesn't actually do anything productive apart from give you a headache. What I think matters more, is the fact that you cant actually do anything about what he said, so just take it on the chin and forget it. I've had bad experiences with DPD too, but getting annoyed bout it just stressed me out.

Yes I was hasty saying that the driver's lies should be pointed out. I got angry for the OP! You only need state the facts. The lying is self-evident. I have had all this kind of nonsense with Citylink. I know it goes on with all couriers but when it happens to you it seems so personal
